Dune (1984) 4

IT get's dumped on, for being one of the worse movies of all time, but to be honest, I have seen awhole lot worse.

I really liked the soundtrack, the effects, and the over the top acting, in the movie.

Dune (1984) 1

Ugh. How to take a very good novel and turn it into a piece of boring, self-indulgent garbage. UPDATE: The preceding comment refers to the 1984 version. The more recent version is about 2 to 3 stars. Just mediocre.

Dune (1984) 4

Great take on the Book from both Dune movies. I really liked the first Dune better than the second even though I bought the New Dune CD from Target. Dune is an involved novel that was presented well in the 1984 movie. The newer remake had a different look and had more time to play out. It was good in it's own way, covered more of what was in the book. Sci-Fi's Children of Dune was very good as well.

Dune (1984) 3

There are two Dunes. The 1984 with Kyle MacLachlan and Sting, of all people. it was really bad! In fact is was so opaque that a narrator would break in at the beginning to tell us what is going on. The 2000 Sci-Fi Channel with William Hurt was much better and I balance both out to 2.5 stars rounded to three.
