When the notorious crime boss went into hiding to escape being arrested, he decided to make a phone call to check on his kids. He stayed on the phone long enough for the police to trace his call, and before he knew it, he was surrounded. A gunfight ensued and before he knew it his body was riddled with bullets. Actually, if he had been a bit more low-key, a little less flamboyant, and refrained from allowing his immense ego to overwhelm his common sense, he might still be alive and operating today.
