 | LanceRoxas (40) 10/19/2004 | A friend? Can I give him 10 stars? He agrees that life begins at conception which makes abortion murder, but reserves the right of murder to the mother. We are endowed by our MOTHER(?) with the right to life, liberty..? If he lived in the mid 1800's would he argue that he would not impose his moral beliefs on others even though he personally believed that blacks were actually full humans that shouldn't be enslaved? I mean... he wouldn't want to impose his moral beliefs on others right? And particularly from the federal bench! The reality is Kerry couldn't care less about the murder of unborn babies it would hurt him politically and he has an office to seek. He's a friend of the abortion promoters alright- all Democrats are- the billion dollar abortion lobby is a huge political donor. Killing babies and the slave trade- the only two businesses the Democrats haven't wanted to regulate.

 | bibliophile (10) 09/08/2004 | ...Not really. He himself is opposed to abortion. But the fact that he wouldn't work to make abortion illegal just means that he recognizes that not everyone agrees on this topic, anymore than everyone agrees on the second ammendment. Or, for that matter, not everyone thinks alcohol should be legal. One could argue that it is a destructive drug for those who abuse it. He thinks it is better not to let his personal views interfere in this area.

 | Sundiszno (30) 08/27/2004 | More like an ally than a friend. I can't believe how he rationalizes his position as a Catholic (I don't want to impose my beliefs on women, or something like that). Don't read this as some kind of religious extremeism on my part - I'm just looking at it from the standpoint of what this guy believes and what he'll stand up for. If he is a believing, practicing Catholic, then part of his faith is (or should be)that abortion is wrong. But, it appears that his liberal dogma trumps Catholic dogma, at least in his mind. It is one of the several things that makes me distrust him. It's a bit typical - he wants to have it both ways (i.e., claim to be a faithful member of a religion, but disagree with one of its chief tenets).

 | EschewObfuscation (61) 08/27/2004 | Much like Bill Clinton, they will be able to count on him, every time. The difference between the two candidates couldn't be clearer.

 | zortan (7) 08/20/2004 | I am pro-choice. The choice is to have sex or not. Abortion is a way of using murder of a child as birth control. If you do not want to be pregnant keep penises out of your vagina.
