Absolutely, and fireproof as well. Even beyond id theft, it's best to keep everything together, just to keep your life more organized.

Several identity theft victims have actually fallen prey to service people who have had access to their homes. Repairmen, maid services, exterminators, etc., so keeping your personal files well secured is a wise thing to do.

Even better, in a small hidden safe. Documents like social security cards, passports, birth certificates, are an identity thiefs dream.
