I liked the movie and caught the mini-series but as Wavebacker noted, the series died out. Quite frankly, the aliens' firearms stunk. They had some kind of laser weapon that made a lot of sound and fury but apparently didn't do much damage. Give me a good old M1 Garand any time! That weapon with the military FMJ (FULL METAL JACKET) bullets in the 30/06 cartridge WOULD shoot through an engine block.

The mini-series was good at the time. A series based on it was a good idea yet this show started out fine yet sank quickly. Many of the same actors carried over to the new series and the whole rebellion vs the alien invaders was interesting, esp. how the show used to open with a TV network broadcast of how the resistance was fighting the aliens all over the world. After that though, it just didnt have enough to it to last long and the big mystery behind the aliens was already exposed. Expect this to be remade into a new series by the Sci-Fi channel in a few years.
