 | lmorovan (16) 04/17/2008 | We kill about one million Americans in the wombs of their mothers every year. Illegal immigrants, mostly Mexicans, come from a more religious and life loving and respecting countries, so they will continue to reproduce. It should not take us by surprise if not so far in the future, Mexican will become majority in America.

 | illusionbuster (7) 01/24/2007 | ILLEGAL ALIENS MAYBE A LOT MORE MORE DANGEROUS THAN YOU WOULD LIKE TO KNOW !!!!!
Twelve Americans are murdered every day by illegal aliens. If those numbers are correct, it translates to 4,380 Americans murdered annually by illegal aliens. That's 21,900 since Sept. 11, 2001.
Evidence suggests many of last year's 42,636 road deaths involved illegal aliens. AAA Foundation for Traffic Study found 20 percent of fatal accidents involve at least one driver who lacks a valid license.
If this article is true then Iraq is not the only battle America is losing !

 | pugwash01 (16) 01/24/2007 | I feel that this subject will cause governments around the world much grief and pain. I came to this country through the immigration process and things went very well for me. I won't say it did not take time and effort on my part. But I believe that the Immigration system does work!!! On the other hand most people that come over here and go into other countries are not as fortunate as me. Yes Illegal immigrants don’t help the economy but have a heart, they are not always coming from a great place.(hence them leaving theirs.) They often don't have the freedom most people have!! Have we all not forgotten something, everyone in the US is an immigrant. The only people that can truly say they are American are: AMERICAN INDIANS. I’m in no way agreeing with coming into this or any country illegally. But let’s all be a little bit more understanding on why it happens!!

 | Randyman (109) 01/23/2007 | Pastorrocks69, your complete disdain for Mexicans far outweighs any real concern for illegal immigration. The immigrants you mentioned, illegal or otherwise, don't represent all Mexicans any more than an idiot like you represents white Christians. You paint with quite a broad brush. This rewiew doesn't even rate an unhelpful.
There's no need to respond to me either, because as my father told me many times while I was growing up "Never argue with a stupid or ignorant person, because you will never win" I was reminded of that last year during a "discussion" with a fellow reviewer who wrote an uncannily similar post. It took a while to sink in, but I see his point.

 | Drummond (60) 12/19/2005 | Many economists believe that they actually help rather than hurt the economy. In any case, they make convenient scapegoats, allowing people to express racism without ever being explicit.

 | drbowler (14) 11/17/2005 | This is quite dangerous to America, if people want to get in this country the should do it legally. Some of them become leechs of society and the spit in the faces of legal immigrants by crossing the without having to go through all that trouble. I was hoping the French riots would wake us up to this problem but obviously W. is not touching this. I don't see what he has to lose the Democrats hate him for what ever he does, more Republicans would like him better and most legal immigrants hate illegals.
But since you are a polticion you must be cocerned with the vote and political correctness. *sigh* If you're not going to do anything about this just give California, Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico back.

 | trebon1038 (65) 10/27/2005 | They take jobs, they don't pay taxes, and worst of all they seem to get away with things that citizens don't. I speak from experience and I have nothing against people coming to our country, but do it right.

 | Underspin (25) 10/05/2005 | When someone chooses to enter another nation illegally, they cannot be trusted to follow the rules and laws that govern that particular society. Further, it is not fair to those immigrants (like my spouse) who actually followed the rules of the naturalization process and eventually, earned their legalized status. As a general rule, those who break the law invariably make it far more difficult for those who actually abide by it in a consistant manner. In the age of terrorism, an unoffical "open door" policy on immigration is not only absurdly outdated, but also extremely dangerous. Which politician will finally step up to the plate about this?

 | sfalconer (22) 10/03/2005 | This is only a crime if you get caught at the border otherwise it's ok. Illegal immigrants are costing this country millions of dollars every day and are goverment does little or nothing about it. They use up our services and inferstructure and pay minimal taxes. We house them feed them and pay them but they have committed a federal crime and nothing is done about it.

 | Teaseress (15) 10/02/2005 | haven't the American government actually given American citizenship to quite a few thousand of illegal immigrants because they are doing the country good? If Americans really were having their jobs taken away by these people that are so desperate for any work to feed their family - the jobs wouldn't really be there in the first place would they? Over here we have a lot of Antipodean people doing jobs like barwork, farm work etc etc because most British people won't do it (and these people are legal). I would logically presume its the same over in America. For those who are totally anti immigrants. I suggest that you try living an honest illegal immigrants life for a year and then tell me that they are wrong for doing what they are. They are just trying to live.

 | TJGypsy2 (7) 10/02/2005 | Of all the things I think we have to fear as Americans, I have to rate this as my lowest concern. Perhaps I'm ignorant, or stupid, but you know, I don't see non-english speaking people holding desirable jobs in my day-to-day life. I do not now, nor have I ever believed that they are taking jobs away from honest, hard working Americans. What I think they are taking are the low paying, dirty, dangerous, underpaid jobs that Americans are not willing to do. I acknowledge that a lot of money gets spent as a result of illegal immigrants who are uninsured, but I believe that an equal amount gets paid on uninsured legal AMERICANS. I truly believe that if all of the illegal immigrants were expelled at the same time....this country would suffer a complete economic collapse. Before you scoff at me, ask youselves this....how many of you have known people who complain that there are NO JOBS, when the help wanted ads are STUFFED? Is it that there are NO JOBS, or just there there are NO JOBS people are WILLING to do????

 | spartacus007 (10) 09/07/2005 | Illegal immigrants pay a higher tax-to-service obtained rate than the average native-born American. In fact, they pay approximately 46 percent as much in taxes as American-born citizens, but receive only 38 percent as much from the government. They're the ones keeping Social Security afloat. [http://www.csmonitor.com/2002/0321/p02s01-ussc.html http://www.truthout.org/cgi-bin/artman/exec/view.cgi/37/10128/printer http://www.ncpa.org/iss/imm/2002/pd062402a.html]
What we need to do is stop deporting hard-working people who have lived here for decades and make it easier to obtain citizenship. This will allow us to weed out the immigrants with a history of violent crime instead of trying to keep track of millions of people trying to make a better life in America. Some illegal immigrants are dangerous, but the overwhelming majority are only a danger to those who treat learning spanish as a death sentence.

 | souljunkie (21) 09/06/2005 | A danger to our ability to employ ourselves at a fair wage and definitely a danger to the American values and way of life. This includes any immigrant who is here to be anything other than American.

 | Djahuti (57) 09/05/2005 | If they are not here legally they may be criminals or terrorists.Even if they are NOT,they are still taking jobs away from Legal Immigrants as well as those who were born here.

 | CanadaSucks (50) 08/14/2005 | I don't care how un-PC it sounds, Illegal Immigration artificially lowers wages, drains our public resources (schools, hospitals, et.al.), increases crime, and puts an unfair squeeze on the middle class. The mantra of they do the work that Americans won't do is offensive and stupid. . .Americans work very hard and have less vacation time than almost every first-world laborer in the world. We've all been had on this issue. . .

 | SZinHonshu (45) 08/08/2005 | Without a doubt illegal aliens are dangerous to American taxpayers. The problem w/ unrestricted immigration is that the immigrants are not screened. We are getting the Have Nots from Mexico and Central America; farmers, the poor, criminals, etc. etc. Unlike people who come in legally, they are less capable of making considerable contributions to the country because they have so little to offer other than cheap labor. What they take out of social programs far exceeds the value of what they contribute.
