The Barrio Sur is one of the liveliest and most culturally vibrant areas of Montevideo. It is the unique African-Uruguayan community which boasts an extremely artistic pulse. On the weekends you can find plenty of hot spots to dance to “candombe,” an African influenced Uruguayan rhythm.
