I saw this one growing up. I didn't realize it was British until PBS did their little donation drive and they mentioned it.

If this is what folks mean by great British comedy, thank God the sun set on that empire.

The day to day antics of the 3rd floor of the Grace Brothers department store. Very funny stuff with some cast changes through the years. Young Mr. Grace was always good for a laugh, old Mr Grace who for the early part of the show's life did not get about much, was a regular on the show but not as funny as his younger brother. The show runs on BBC America and you local PBS station.

It was alright, but not a great show by any means. It makes you laugh a couple times in the show, but there are MUCH funnier British Comedies.

mediocre compared to other british comedies, but not horrible. what amazed me most about this show is that how little respect the seniors had for the juniors. i wouldn't last a week there, but on my last day i would be sure to moon the lot of them.

Cosy, familiar and a warm feeling from the 70s...sitcoms just aren't funny any more since they became too pc.

Typical English 70s camp humour. So predictable yet still raises a laugh even today. Both characters; Mr Humphries I'm Free. And Sloecombes pussy and garish hair made this programme great.

A very camp Mr. Humphries and Mrs. Sloecombe's pussy. You could not get away with this stuff today. Brilliant scripts and still showing on TV in the UK today, and most importantly still very funny!
