03/24/2006 | Probaly the best Britcom of all time - which means the best of all time. American shows are generally naff, and their best are copies or variations on the great British ones. All in the Family was the best translation of all. It worked and translated mcuh better than most, BUT though I loved Archie, the British original wins hands down,as did Steptoe and Son (aka Sanford in the US - pretty lame Robin's Nest (aka Three's company), recently The Office (same name) etc. why do the Us shows have to always end with everyone hugging and being friends/forgiving etc. The British are FAR more adventurous with their comedy, and know how to weave a story withinh other stories - intelligent writing versus sappy!
