It might be a little exaggerated but unfortunately, it's true.

No one is calling anyone a communist. The whole idea behind this and other PW slogans is to carry out the left's views to their fullest and expose the obvious hypocrisy's. After so many have seen what the communist ideology can create (or destroy, rather) people still want to convice others that socialism isn't something we should be concerned about. And that if any of us intellectually-challenged conservatives question that mentality we are nothing more than a piece of veal? Give me a break...

Another bizzare fallacy made by someone who hasn't been to college- the idea that communism is something that's warmingly embraced by the 'left' as gospel simply isn't true and is only believed by the retarded. Communism has killed a nauseating amount of people in the 20th century. It will be remembered as a crime against humanity. Communism is a reference to a police-state philosophy and is anti-matter to the freedom and civil liberties espoused by leftist philosophy. (Although there are aspects of leftism that are far-reaching and should be modified and tempered.) If any of you people have actually bothered to travel to a communist contry, perhaps you would be smart enough to know the difference. . .

Yes, let's turn a blind eye to images of people being gunned down as they try to make it past the Berlin Wall, and of the South Vietnamese clinging to the last U.S. chopper out of Vietnam. Let's forget about Freedom of Religion, Freedom of Speech, and just about every other Constitutional right we have. Hey, Communism had free health care. Sure, the health care was crap, but it was free crap. There are several factors at work here. First, we have an entire generation of new voters that were in diapers when the Berlin Wall came down, much less do they remember when Castro was a more prominent figure. Second, we have people who are well aware of what Communism did in Europe that will use the ignorance of the people that don't remember for their benefit. Third, some people are just idiots, and insist that the only reason something didn't work is because the right people haven't tried it yet.

The left has never lacked for naive followers of communism, an ideology which ignores basic tenants of human nature and in many aspects justifies totalitarianism for the greater good, which usually ends up being some dictator's lust for power.

The funny thing about this is that I've heard numerous times that it's failure was a leadership problem or that communism wasn't implemented properly. Deontological liberals are quite ignorant of what they are saying when to promote an agenda of unlimited personal freedom through the advancement of expansive rights they abandon the principles of self-govenment. Case in point: If freedom is defined by our rights and those rights are protected against government intrusion against said freedom then minority's right to x is named by who? And as freedoms to x, y, z and so on are expanded by minority fiat those in power get to name what those rights are- and simultaneously reduce the ability for majorities to rule themselves. As such as the fixed priniciples are infused into a constitutional order democracy is dissolved and tyranny takes its place in the name of freedom- a truly humanitarian and communitarian freedom.
