Let me get this straight- you want the 'progressive school choice' but want medieval-esque refutation of evolution through the introduction of (drum roll, please) "Intelligent design". . .ah, conservatives-who-care-about-your-education-and-less-government. . .I guess some form of 'choice' is allowed and some isn't- but don't y'all hate that word to begin with?

Eschew Obfuscation said it all. I have no more to add.

This is the most revealing item on this list, exposing the selling out of the liberal soul to a special interest group, the almighty teachers' union. Nobody credibly argues that poor young kids (blacks or whites) are being adequately served by the status quo, and this (vouchers) seems like little enough to try to improve the status quo. But, true liberals won't give an inch on vouchers, not because they won't work, but because they might weaken the divine stranglehold of the teachers' unions on the flow of government/education dollars (and with it, power). Ah, such altruistic people should be given greater decision and policy making responsibility. What about the pro-choice party, indeed?

Say yes the rich education establishment that supports the Democratic Party in hundreds of millions in campaign contributions. Say yes to segregated schools in the ghettos! Say yes to ebonics! Say yes to keeping it real and revising history, teaching subjective learning that improves self esteem! Say yes to keeping the teacher unions filthy rich! Hell the Klu Klux Klan couldn't have devised a better system to keep blacks down. Great job libs!

If I had to choose, this is the one I'd pick as my favorite. The reason being based on personal observations I've made. Not to long ago, my sister-in-law was in need of a male to accompany her to look through prep-schools for her son. So I used some of my vacation time to accompany her and what I saw was perhaps the strongest argument for school vouchers you could ever experince. First off, every prep-school hat at least a 99.9% white student body. At least 75% of that was male and (judging by some of the conservations with others at the tours) 65-70% of the parents were liberals. By the end of the week, when I was leaving my hotel room, I was somewhat shocked to see a black person...I had been looking at a sea of white, blond-haired, blue-eyed children my enitre time. Now compare that not to your typical suburban public school that's usually well funded, but with an over-crowded, crime ridden, poor inner-city public school. My point is that no matter how you dress a pile of garbage, it's still garbage. Unfortunatley that's the state of many public school systems and those who truly advocate equal rights should also be offering the chance of a stable education environment for miniorities.

Kind of funny how the people who are always screaming about choice are only in favor of it if it doesn't actually do anybody any good.
