Great coffee during the day, and in the evening the table cloths come out, the candles get lit, and it becomes a fairly elegant, moderately priced Italian restaurant with Brazilian overtones. Absolutely great.

Melanio's a great guy, the service is fantastic and your face is always remembered. Not to mention the amazing food, and the coffee is roasted in the store, in a roaster in the dining area. It's a very interesting place, and they serve excellent italian food. It's just not something you could find everywhere, and it's definitely not your typical olive garden fare. The prices are decent, and the coffee's very unique and rich. A bit nutty, richer and a bit more bitter than most coffees. In my opinion, a mandatory visit on every trip to San Francisco.
