I without a doubt mourn the loss of Peter Jennings, one of the greatest American journalists of all time. Kind, never spun an all around nice guy. Children loved him, and he (in a NON-Michael Jackson way) loved children, and did many many on scene reports with them. He will be missed.

Its amazing how much of a presence Jennings had in American lives along with Rather and Brokaw. For such a long period of time they were consistently the face of national news in this country. Communication is changing now, and the network news anchor doesn't have the same type of impact as they had just a few years ago, but Peter Jennings will be missed not only because he passed on so quickly, but also because he was one of those 3 people who were so crucial to informing the American public for so long.

I wouldn't mourn him, it was weird to hear he had died and also funny how they said on the news bush had nothing but kind words for him I mean seriously folks, what's he supposed to say about someone who died? he's a big a-hole and I am glad he's gone? Geez!

I was sorry to hear of Peter Jennings passing from lung cancer. He handled himself on the job with the utmost professionalism and an attention to detail that is rarely seen in the media today. His broadcasts specials were always highly informative, with a delivery that was exceptional...RIP.

Along with Tom Brokaw and Dan Rather, the face of the news for the last 25 years or so. I don't so much mourn him, but I do note his passing. Condolences to his family, and to all those that do mourn him. The news format has changed in the last decade, and his death, literally, puts the nail on the coffin on the old school news format.

Seemed like a pretty good guy and a competent newsman. I can't say I mourn him particularly, but he was a consumate professional, and there's few enough of them around.

I was sorry to hear of his affliction and I'm surprised it took him as quickly as it did. His strain must have been very aggressive. A capable correspondent, a good newsman and a guy who combined contacts, skill, talent and luck. But, there are many people whom I mourn more than him. I haven't watched a network nightly news broadcast in several years.

He was very handsome and great at reporting around the world and in the studio. Yes, he looks young and I wasn't expecting him to die suddenly. Because of his death, the era of such great reporters has ended at close to 25 years. He will certainly be missed, despite that he is Canadian born. I'm sure that the evening news will not be the same now that him, Tom Brokaw and Dan Rather have stepped down. To me, Jennings was unbiased, and he did very well going all over the world to cover what's important. I thank him dearly.

I always thought that Jennings was a pretty good newscaster, and I'm sorry to see him pass on. It's always unsettling to see a guy who you think of as not that old die, and Jennings is certainly one of those guys.
