The idea of a pokemon movie is awesome. I have a few brilliant ideas for myself. Actually, it is an entire plot consisting of three movies. don't worry, I would dispose of ash and start fresh. Imagine huge battle scenes, creepy and intense moments. And the three legendary birds along with mew at their fullest.

i hope not. the cartoon is bad enough. guess there must still be an audience for Pokeman. thank goodness the only member in our family who liked Pokemon has outgrown it. live action would probably be awful.

a pokemon movie would be brilliant but the y woyld hae to look well realistic though, otherwise it wouldnt much of a live action movie.

What people, and any studios, needs to pay attention to is all of the Pokemon realism.
Worth1000.com has great photoshopped pics of "real" Pokemon, and I've even seen a great real Mewtwo on DeviantArt.com. The reason I say this is because think about "FF7: Advent Children". Nanaki and Cait were done rather well for furred CGI creatures. I'd rather see a "realistic" Pikachu done with their quality.
Anybody else agree?

Given the shite that Hollywood is capable of, it wouldn't surprise me

I plan to make the film somehow. Here's what I would do. I would start off the movie with a Pokemon contest as Professor Oak, takes Ash and his mom. That would make sense of how he wants his journey to start. Not to mention I would include the rivals, and a few main trainers. The Pokemon would look about the same as the cartoon not to realistic. They would move realistic and have cg battling effects. And I would have the Pikachu on Ash's shoulders as they go on their journey. I don't want to spoil it...

Alright, this 5 star rating depends on lots of things. First, there needs to be a director with a clear artistic vision with a set mood for the entire film, and a cleasr picture of the pokemon universe and its features and rules. Second, for me to be interested, it must be based on the show. This project needs a strong subject source. I think the writers would screw up and make a "Speed Racer" if they focused on a game character or made one of their own. It needs to be Ash's story. But instead of a naive child of 10 years old, he needs to be a more experienced kid who has flaws, and grows more mature through his journey. Third, of course is the pokemon design. There MUST be a good design team to make the pokemon an artfully weird spectacle. Overall, if it follows these guidelines, I think it will be pretty cool. If any director is reading this, I suggest you pitch the idea to a studio. You might have a chance of making a great success if you understand how to make a dramatic picture. Don't forget, even though this is a sport movie, it should not be your central focus. It should be the relationship between man and pokemon, and how the characters mature. .

A Live Action Pokemon movie, that would be awesome; i mean iv watched the animated series, iv played every game, and to see a live action movie would just complete it. Pokemon is the best and i know that it would be a big hit and it would be awesome to see them bring Pikachu, MewTwo, or my favorite Charizard, but i think they should think about the Silver, Crystal, and Gold version games, how you played as another character and then had to battle Ash at the top of the mountain. They should really make it toward the games, i mean with the whole saving the professor from the wild pokemon and then they get the pokemon they choose, i mean that would be awesome. Then after the movie they can come out with a RPG on all gaming consoles to go along with the movie, they could possibly have something going here. Maybe in fact a 5 movie thing.

Do you get the feeling that the previous review was quietly typed out at 3:00 in the morning in a darkened office cubicle. Immediately after he hit "Submit!" he was surprised when two large faceless goons folded his laptop closed and took it from his hands. We'll never hear from msguy2726 again and emails sent to ctprodigy7 will be receive a friendly response asking how we know this individual.
Should we send out a search party?

i work at amblin and i just found papers (I made copies ctprodigy7@aol.com if you want them) that Steven Speilburg is going to produce a live action pokemon film, the papers said that the film would not include ash ketchum he would be part of the story but he would not be in the film they want the story to be more of a group of teens stumble upon a "hive or a tomb, and release these ancent cretures", they are going to incorprate that pokemon are in fact were we got our ideas of mithical creatures such and unicorns and dragons...they must have a rough draft a script and are looking for a director (No names where listed) (the major studio that will release the feature is universal studios while amblin, nintendo, and for some reason hasbro??? will have all creative control of the project) walt disney studios offred to split prodution costs but the Universal is was only intestied in buying the whole property from them which they did on March 7th 2006 ((((disney must have owned the rights to a live action pokemon film, come to think of it they did dabble in the pokemon franchse very breifly they even theatricly distrbuted 2 of the films in 2002 and 2003 and a third and fourth stright to video in 2004 and 2005, and if i did my research right universal handled the canadian distrabution so both studios have shown some intreast in the series)))))...there has been no casting what so ever... only the writing of a script as been approved and it looks like they are wanting a script that will put the film at a budget of about 140 to 160 million and a pg13 treatment... they are shooting for a 2010 release and the marketing campaign will resemble that of cloverfeilds (not giving out the title until 2 months before the release but showing omonus previews that excite and create interest)the studio will not give a press release for the film becasue to they are going to make the movie in secret much like cloverfield because they are afrid that the film will not be taken seriously but at the same time with the correct teatment could make them a lot of money..if made they want to start attaching its preview to the biggest projects of the summer of 2009 until its release in or 2nd or 3rd quarter in 2010... also in the papers is listed as project "JP4" so they are hiding all costs under the Jurrassic Park name so expect a unsually high budget for JP4 or maybe this is JP4 idk... and they are even talking about using marketing trickery and just giving the film a weird title and releasing it without any hint that its a Pokemon movie just another super sweet "creature feature" and then just trust that word of mouth will be good enough to keep interest in the film, again i have copys and i scaned my work id so you know i really do work at amblin... oh and of course they want to do a trilogy... im still sorting through everything becasue there are piles of confedntalty agreements and reciepts and sloppy notes and some other weird things things 57 pages in all... seems like this movie kinda went into a studios worst nightmare fase that its just now pulling out of...

I think there should be a live action Pokemon Movie, but it should have character developement, cool live action Pokemon battles, a really good plot to it, and work very hard on it it will do well I think. If they can make alien robots come to life in the 2007 movie "Transformers" why can't they make strange and wonderful creatures come to life as well. I know many people say a live action Pokemon movie would be a bad idea, i don't think so, that's my opinion, and the rest of you have your opinions also; I wanna hear your opinions.
