i agree with below :-) whenever you go into business you get out of it what you put into it.as for the products, i personally think they're good. and as for being expensive, they are no more expensive then the products you purchase in the department stores, as a matter of fact, they are LESS! everyone's skin is different and will react differently to different products. everything is not for everyone. however, every time i introduce someone to a new product or to the mary kay line at all, i get all smiles and it makes me feel good that they feel good. i also bring my expertise in cosmetic applications to my customers. all i did was apply makeup for my friends before we went out when i was younger and now i do it as a career. mary kay is not my sole salary, my husband has a great job which allows me to stay home with my child and i just thought, why not do something from home that i can enjoy that will bring me a little extra cash.additionally i love the fact that i get to use these products for below cost... and you can too.if your interested in Mary Kay products or the opportunity, please do not hesitate to contact me at anytime.visit me online at http://www.marykay.com/christinabauerchristina bauermk consultant

Awesome product and company! It is like everything else... there is good and bad people in every walk of life. YOU have the choice of how you deal with it. If you follow the Mary Kay model and work it as it was intended to be worked you will be okay. There are some folks out there that wanted to do it their way or listen to someone else that wanted to do it their way. Well, that didn't work for them because they didn't use the model (proven method) and now they want to blame the company. You will get lots of training material. All you have to do is READ & LEARN to get EDUCATED!! After all you are opening up a business with Mary Kay. No one will hog tie you to place orders. You are in control. Educate yourself about what you are doing!!!I am 47 years old, have been wearing the product since I was 21. Became I consultant 10 years ago since I figured out I was a great spokes person since I love the product ( I have very sensitive skin). Would love to share this awesome company with you or be your personal skin care consultant or just answer any questions you may have. You can email me at beautyscoop@yahoo.com

I have no idea whether they're scam artists or not, but they seem as determined to turn the world pink as British imperialists were determined to turn the map of the world the same color.

I love these products and so do all my daughters and thats why I started selling in 2004. My daughters and I are my best customers and then a few friends I don't go out ever and sell but when people find out I sell they call me. I have never been pressured to sell anything. I have used the skin care for years and maybe thats why at 53 people can't believe I am over 40.

I use Mary Kay and when I turn 18 I can't wait to become a consultant.. No one has pressured me or made me get anything I didn't want. I get comments on my makeup all the time and my cleansers and moisturizers work wonders on my teenage blemish prone skin.. I never use anything with out reading about the product from a pessimistic point of view and I have learned that Mary Kay is known for her honesty and integrity. Anyone who says they hate if may have incountered a representative who is not in it for the beauty of the product like Mary Kay Ash wanted her consultants to be. My products last at least 6 months every time I buy them and when I put them on they last all day! It is super hard to compete with a company who gives money to charities!

I disagree with these people. I have been in and out of Mary Kay. I have used the product since I was old enough to wear make up. Mary Kay is a great faith based company. They give you lots of support and if anyone is pressured into ordering then that person needs to be reported to the home office because that is not the way the company operates. They do encourage you to order but not to put yourself in debt to do it. They are there to see you make money not lose it.

Well I'm 26 and I have been a consultant since I was 18. Most people in MK are in it for the right reasons. Motivation, girlfriend time, and to create a better life for themselves. All of my consultants are very thankful that I shared the opportunity with them. I left college to pursue this full time when I was 22. I now make over $200,000 per year. I just bought my own 350,000 home, and I am proud to drive a pink cadillac. I have 2 children which I had before I turned 20 years old and MK has allowed me to give them any and everything they want.

I was a consultant for a "Minute". I started to feel pressured about purchasing an inventory that I did nopt have the money to buy. The person who recruited me had all these plans to "help" me make that order. The order was over $1500 in product. She had me really going, I was stressed out about not having money for products. I found myself online filling out credit card applications past midnight. She even suggested that I call exsiting cards for an extention. Then I stopped and asked myself what was I doing? Am I Nuts? I sat and asked myself is this really worth it for me? No. Her interest was not all that genuine either. She get a commision from recruits and there orders. I am thinking since she has been in the company for almost 10 years she makes the max, 13%. So to me it is also a pyramid scheme too. The products are not all that great. No they are not the prices in the mall but the product is drugstore quality to me. The mark up is high on the products too. My advice to anyone looking to be a consultant is Good Luck. I have found that people run in the other direction when they hear you are a Mary Kay consultant. Beware of that recruiter remember they stand to make money off of you and all your future orders too. The people are nice I will say that and they do try to keep you motivated and there is plenty of help on selling through meetings and information packets. But it was not for me.

What a pathetic bunch of affected ninnies! I lost my friend to these pink nightmares. Their product is unremarkable at best, and their marketing "strategies" repel rather than attract. The fragrances are cheap-smelling, the moisturizer creates a film over the surface of your skin rather than absorbing, and any pencil-based item (brow liner, eye liner, lip liner) runs out very quickly (any I don't even wear makeup every day!) I'd rather go to Walgreens and buy Revlon, at least I wouldn't feel like I just got screwed for it. And at least the sales clerk won't run me down asking me to be the next Walgreens clerk!
