I always enjoy getting back home. It usually seems like I need a vacation from my vacation. Sleeping in my own bed is always one of the bonuses of getting back home. Most of my traveling is work related though, and it has me ending up in onsite housing (CERN, Fermilab, etc.), so I don't get hotel beds. I get short little twin beds, and my feet hang over the end of those. I fit in my own bed.

Hotel beds are amaaaaazing :) plus I love to travel. My bed's pretty great, but I'm not super attached.

Does this mean like a business trip, a vacation...or making it up the stairs after a full day of company, beer, wings, and football?

Just dropping the luggage, the curtains, the clothes, and diving in to a comfy, cool pile of pillows and blankets and sinking in deep and not waking up even if your cat insists on saying hello and batting your nose. I always travel with my own pillow :)

There's no place like home!

The hotel beds, the cramped conditions, the weird places I've slept overseas. . .my own bed is a haven- especially if the wife is present.

This is a great thing! I can't stand hotel mattresses; I have never found one that I could even begin to get comfy on. They're evil I tell you!

I always love doing this because I really miss it when I'm away.

I went to Europe in 1981 with a friend, and went through England, France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany, Holland, and Belgium. Occasionally, we would have enough to stay in a hotel, but more often I slept (or tried to sleep) in train stations, on trains (they tended to be crowded; once I found myself in a compartment with a group of Moroccans who had swastikas tattooed on themselves and I tried to grab some ZZZZ's on the compartment's floor...needless to say, I didn't sleep soundly that night), in hostels, with obliging acquaintances...The first night back, I slept in my own bed. When I awoke the next morning, I literally had no idea where I was, or whose bed I was sleeping in. I had to sit there for a minute in bewilderment before I realized I was home.

Nothing is more satisfying than climbing into your own bed after a long vacation. No matter how good of a time you had. Kinda goes hand in hand with "There's no place like home".

Its always fun to travel and see new things or visit old friends and/or family, but its always great to get back to my own bed!

This always feel good. Even if I'm not tired upon getting home, I'm compelled to sleep .
