This traditionally Democratic area has moved sharply to the GOP following the national trends. Many of the people living here are descendants of Southerners who moved here three generations ago
. George W. Bush polled 65% of the vote in this district. Nunes has won all his elections with margins of two to one or better.
He was born in 1973 and is Catholic.
