Anchor actually makes no lagers. Their trademark beer Anchor Steam Beer, probably their most popular is a California Common (also called steam beer, or at least they did until Anchor trademarked the term). Produced with bottom fermenting yeast (lager yeast) at ale temperatures. Fritz Maytag (washing machine guy) was trying to make lager out in California before they had refrigeration and he invened his own style. I suppose there is debate as to whether this is a lager or not, but nonetheless, I don't much care for it. Their Liberty Ale, and Porter, however, are both tasty brews.

An unremarkable lager that goes down pretty smooth in the Southeast Asia heat.
