 | kamylienne (80) 08/20/2005 | Mmmmm. Love a good tomato. I tend to ask for extra slices of tomato on sandwiches, if I can. Plus, it's hard to have a salad without tomatoes; I particularly like cherry tomatoes for that purpose.

 | dpostoskie (7) 08/15/2005 | What? How about on sandwiches or salads? Even my 9 year old eats raw tomatoes.

 | operator 409 (7) 08/15/2005 | Slice 1 big, red , almost too ripe homegrown Georgia tomato... get 2 slices of white bread, as fresh as you can possibly find...spread a generous helping of mayonnaise on both slices of bread, being careful not to overdo it...Sprinkle a dash of McCormick Lemon & Pepper on the mayo side of both slices...place 2-3 tomato slices between the slices of bread...mash down on that sucker and be ready for a trip to culinary Heaven. Know a girl from Illinois who had never even heard of tomato sandwiches when she came to Georgia, (and wasn't too sure she wanted to try one). Long story short, she now cannot imagine life without tomato sandwiches.

 | bluetarbaby (8) 08/15/2005 | I don't get this either, if you mean just eating them, not on a sandwich or anything. A lot of people love this, but I don't get it. Wanna a tomato? NO! Not unless you gotta sandwich to go with it. Fried green tomatos I can handle, but I still don't really like it that much.

 | Mr.Political (20) 08/14/2005 | I'm agreeing with Inmyopinion much more than I'm comfortable with...In order for me to enjoy tomatoes I want to see it in a plastic bottle with the Heinz label on it (another thing that makes me uncomfortable as a conservative). The taste is just too overwhelming and far too acidic.

 | CastleBee (85) 08/14/2005 | Great with so many things - eggs, on sandwiches, sliced with salt, in homemade salsa - you name it. Excellent when in season as they are now. The high acid content can sometimes play havoc (little sores in your mouth) but very much worth the temporary discomfort.

 | Randyman (109) 08/14/2005 | Tomatoes, raw ot otherwise are one of my staples. I eat them like apples, with just a little salt and peeper.

 | Graymalkin (52) 08/14/2005 | That is the secret there, the ones you buy in a grocery store never seem to rippen to their peak of sweetness. I buy fresh tomatoes at least four times a week. IMO, try putting a bit of sugar on your tomato, it helps to cut the acidic taste if this bothers you.

 | texasyankee (22) 08/14/2005 | I am sort of with you on this. I don't like raw tomatoes in leafy salad, but I like tomato salad as long as I can put it on fresh Italian bread, and also I like tomato sandwiches with mayo. Otherwise raw tomato isn't really something I seek out.

 | CanadaSucks (50) 08/14/2005 | Garden-grown tomatoes (not bought in the store) are terrific raw.

 | Sundiszno (32) 08/14/2005 | Tomatoes are the best! Maybe it's my Italian heritage, but I just can't conceive of anyone who doesn't like tomatoes. Best when picked fresh from the vine, and eaten with a bit of salt on them, still warm from the sun.

 | MissPackRat4Jesus (42) 08/13/2005 | You don't like tomatoes? Give 'em to me! I love things like that -- especially little cherry tomatoes.

 | Inmyopinion (10) 08/13/2005 | Nope, can't have them on my salad, can't have them on a BLT. They just taste sour and gross. They have too much acid and burn your mouth.
