 | souljunkie (21) 08/15/2005 | Love em! Had my first at 10 years old and loved them ever since. They are similar to garlic covered mushroom which I also love. They are much more fun when eaten out of the shell instead of just a bowl with cups carved out. This is the way they were served in all the great little italian resturants we frequented in the Soho district of London when I was a kid. I want some now!

 | Sundiszno (32) 08/14/2005 | There are those people who enjoy escargot and conch - as far as I'm concerned, they are nothing more than slugs with a shell. I was first introduced to snails at a really early age - the old-time Italians used to consider them a delicacy. Problem is, I saw just how they prepared them. They'd get a pailful of fresh snails (I'm not sure where they got them), then they'd wash them in water, then they'd boil them (that really turned me off, to think of all of those squirmy, slimy things getting boiled alive), and then they'd cook them in a tomato sauce, and then, finally, they'd pick the little buggers out with an ordinary straight pin and eat them(and suck the sauce out of the shell). Disgusting. Fahgeddaboudit!

 | CastleBee (85) 08/14/2005 | I wasn't impressed with these rubbery little things. Underneath the garlic sauce I had the feeling they might taste a lot like the eraser on a No. 2 pencil.

 | Randyman (109) 08/14/2005 | I've had escargot, and I enjoyed it very much. And it's true the best part is the garlicky butter sauce. It's delicious, but it's not something I crave.

 | Graymalkin (52) 08/14/2005 | I have come to the conclusion that it is not really the escargot that I like, but the garlicky butter sauce that they are baked in that I can dip my crusty French bread into.

 | texasyankee (22) 08/14/2005 | I haven't tried it so I don't know how it tastes. Just the way it looks and the thought of what it is makes it impossible for me to eat(which is a rare occasion; I like trying new and different things)
