 | Inmyopinion (10) 08/14/2005 | Who decided that little black (or sometimes orange) blobs were the food of sophistication? I wouldn't feed this stuff to a dog.

 | ClassicTVFan47 (38) 08/14/2005 | Hmm...$35 for a few measly ounces of fish eggs...or $5 for some excellently-seasoned chicken nuggets and french fries from Chick-Fil-A. I don't find the choice to be very difficult.

 | Sundiszno (32) 08/14/2005 | Caviar, I believe, is another one of those status symbols that some people suffer through to try to show just how sophisticated they are. When something tastes like crap, it tastes like crap, period. I had some once (and I have no idea if it was Russian, Bulgarian, Beluga, or Schmeluga) and immediately tried to kill the taste by drinking copious amounts of champagne (which I also think tastes lousey). Never again.

 | Mr.Political (20) 08/14/2005 | Actually, it depends. Caviar from the Beluga Sturgeon is know around the world for being one of the finest varieties available but to appreciate any the taste of any caviar, several details have to be just-so. Thus making this particular delicacy thoroughly unenjoyable (that and the fact that you can't get any decent variety for under a $100 an ounce). On the basis of taste alone, than I'd give it a three, possibly a four, but I must go with the consensus that caviar is indeed overrated.

 | CastleBee (85) 08/14/2005 | I like it on little toast squares with a little sour cream. But, I've never had the really expensive stuff so I may not be the best judge of it.

 | Graymalkin (52) 08/14/2005 | I have to agree, yes it is a bit overrated. I however really enjoy it for a rare and special indulgence. The taste and smell remind of the fresh ocean air! I prefer Beluga, especially in blinis.

 | Randyman (109) 08/14/2005 | I've had caviar, and for my taste, it's way overrated! I didn't disgust me, but it didn't impress me either.

 | CanadaSucks (50) 08/14/2005 | I had to eat it at this horrible business luncheon. . .It was one of the only times I can remember when I tried something and simply hated it.
