Great low key home style cooking Mexican restaurant. The place is very colorful, and intricately decorated with 'jarritos' all over the walls. It is run by a lovely Mexican family and the place certainly reflects that familial feel. I love to go here when I'm most home sick. Try the chilaquiles, the cactus (or nopales) side salad, or the beef stew.

Los Jarritos is a hidden gem, tucked away on a shady block of South Van Ness. The restaurant itself is extremely pleasant - very high ceilings and a comfortable atmosphere. Expect huge portions of typical Mexican dishes here - if it's morning, I usually get the huevos con chorizo with plenty of home made tortillas. If it's lunch or dinner, I'll usually go with the chilaquiles. Fantastic food, huge portions, comfortable restaurant.

The only reason it doesn't get a 5 is because the service, while friendly, is really slow.
