His love for life will be one of his strongest legacy for next generations. I salute him for his stance.

This is a good thing, it will save millions of unborn babies.

I do not think the President is trying to make abortion illegal; he is trying to prevent the killing of innocent life. Whether or not you agree with the stance that life begins at conception or not, he does. I personally do agree that the taking of life in this manner is wrong and it has nothing to do with choice because no one gave the child a choice. I believe that the choice comes into play when the woman decides whether or not to become pregnant. I know that is not an option in the case of rape but the child does not get an option to live either. There are cases of children who have grown up in loving families who are results of rape who lead successful lives. The child can be given up for adoption if it is not wanted. I know you may think this is easy for a man to say what I am writing, but taking an innocent life is never easy either.

I wasn't aware of this and proof is needed for such an outlandish claim.

Well, lots of people are trying to make it moral and they have about as much of a chance as the people who are trying to make it illegal (don't know or care if Bush is one of the latter 'cause it doesn't matter). Just one of the many features of the contradictory world in which we live.

As previously noted, President Bush is hardly trying to make abortion illegal. What he has done is enact the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act in order to prevent the continued legalization of an extreme and especially gruesome form of abortion. In fact, partial birth abortion is so barbaric that this act was passed overwhelmingly because of the sheer stupidity necessary in order for any person to find this anyone's choice. Furthermore, I want to know where in the hell these pro abortionists get off portraying abortion as something that benefits women? Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Alice Paul dedicated their lives to the advancement of women's rights but realized abortion was the most severe disservice to woman. For far leftists such as thechallenger to portray their position as anything more than a quick fix for their irresponsibility is appaling.

Dubya has about as much chance of this as surviving the first round of 'Jeapordy'.

I'm not convinced that Bush or many Republican Congressmen are as anti-abortion as their lip service would suggest. Many Republicans in power are politically savvy enough to know that if Roe vs. Wade gets overturned by the next two appointees on the Supreme Court, it actually hurts the chance of Republicans being re-elected in many a swing state. The reason? The abortion issue would surely get kicked down to the state level, where motivated Democrats may very well show up at the polls in mass to affirm their own reproductive rights by state. These extra voting Democrats will also want to add Democrats to Congress. The American public often moves toward political balance, so big political advancements from one side are often countered swiftly by the pendulum swinging back in the other direction.

I would like to know the answer to one question: What has President Bush done to try and make abortion illegal? Is he against abortion? Yes, so am I, and I've done as much to make it illegal as he has. Where are the attempts to overturn Roe vs. Wade? There are none. He'll take away a woman's right to chose is just a battle cry from the left that sounds good, and the funny thing is it doesn't work. They are just preaching to the choir. In my opinion, being against abortion means you are against killing babies. Being against Roe vs. Wade means you don't want to manipulate the Constitution, and you think abortion should go back to being a state issue. Both good things in my book.

It may be true that he would like to make abortion illegal. However, if we're talking about his desire to reverse Roe v Wade then, as they say in Texas (and to borrow from Genghis' list of idioms) .. that dog won't hunt. Reversing Roe v Wade will not make abortion illegal. What it will do is send the issue back to the individual states for clarification. The net effect as I see it is that we will then have fifty fights about abortion rather than one.

Wow. This would lead to less butchering of innocent babies. Why is this a problem?

This is one of the main reasons George W. Bush is leading America straight to hell in a handbasket. He does not want to accept the fact that Women should have rights as well as anyone else im telling you that if a woman does not want a little still lifeless disease growing and poisoning her body than she should be able to rid it.Like I said many times before it is not a baby it is a fadus for hells sake.
