Jared in Fairborn, ohio.
We took a watch in for servicing over a month ago. They said they would call within a week to tell give us a quote. Never got a call so we went in. They said they didn't call because of the storm that come through two days prior knocking out power. We got this excuse from 3 other sales associates. But we brought the watch in a month prior. The receipt for the quote was three weeks old. Anyway, we didn't like the quote so we said have the watch sent back and we'll go somewhere else. Again, they said they would call when it came in from Michigan. Still no call over a week later. They don't keep their word. We are not impressed with this retailer. We will never use a Jared retailer ever again.

These people are so rude. We all know they are marking their jewlrey up 300% but they could at least give good customer service. I will never buy from them again!

I am ready to sue! They must get commissions from the appraisals they try to make you sign up for with their "independent appraiser". I asked twice about what I needed to do for insurance purposes after my fiance purchased my ring. Both times they told me about their "independent appraiser" who you have to pay the 125 PER PIECE and "who did you sign up under...?". I finally call back because after shopping around with other jewelers I had been told that where my ring was bought should offer an insurance appraisal for free. After calling Jared and talking to two people about why they don't offer this to their customers, they tell me "well, we do acutally have something you can take to your insurance compnay that doesn't cost anything!" I almost paid over 200 dollars, after my fiance just purchased my wedding and engagement rings and they wouldn't even tell me that was an option! The customer service number was no help, they just dismissed it and said it was probably a misunderstanding...and they would talk to the store...yeah right! My fiance also purchased this extended warranty policy, from what I read it doesn't sound like it's worth much of anything! We need to sue them, they think they can get away with this!!!

I've had a 2.5 carat heirloom diamond for years now, never left it anywhere but my personal jewelers. However, last Christmas I went into Jareds to buy some diamonds and when they asked if I'd like my ring cleaned, I, of course said yes. Imagine my surprise in August when I ran to Jareds to have this diamond cleaned and engraved for my son's fiance, when they informed me it was a fake! Please keep in mind the diamond is not only appraised, but charted and very valuable! Jared's NEVER takes a stone in to clean without checking that it's real first. So, it was a real diamond at Christmas and a fake in August. Didn't take long to figure out that they had switched my stone for a poor quality CZ when they cleaned it! When I called corporate, convieniently, they don't record jewelry they take back for cleaning, in other words, they blew me off! I have contacted our BBB and the Attorney General, who, guess what? Have a list a mile long on Jared's. And have rated them the worst possible rating. I am just sickened by all of this. Any similar experiences? I am positive my diamond is not the only one switched.

My husband and I went to the Tigard OR store at Bridgeport Plaza to find a replacement for my wedding ring as I wanting to upgrade. I felt that the sales person was very pushy and kept trying to sell us a ring. I told him I wanted a sapphire ring and wanted a chance to look around. Within 30 seconds of telling him this, he started to show me rings and did not give me a chance to browse around the store. In addition, I felt like he was breathing down my neck. At last, we found a ring that we like and proceed to complete the paperwork. The sales people proceed to tell me that white gold will turn yellow??? and to bring it in for regular cleanings every 6 months and that should a diamond fall out that we needed to purchase insurance. Who has ever heard of white gold turning yellow? Or having your gemstones fall out of the ring. . . Is this some kind of joke. Safe to say we left the store ASAP. ***Then it brings to mind my sister's story. She had a ring that the diamond was loss and her husband brought it into Jared's for repair. Guess what they did. . . they ruin the ring and tried to repair it but could not. It never looked the same every again. :( DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE.

Horrible Experience in Glen Allen, VA!!
On the morning of August 22, my tenth wedding anniversary, my husband told me that he was taking me shopping. Imagine my surprise when he pulled up to Jared. However, the excitement ended there. The sales staff refused to acknowledge my husband and me. We waited patiently, and looked on in disbelief as every single customer who entered the store after us was greeted and waited on in a timely manner; of course, they were all white. After waiting in vain for twenty minutes, we realized that no one there wanted to waste their time with us, so we left. In the end, I did get a beautiful gift from another jeweler, but that experience really cast a negative mood over what should have been a beautiful day for us both. It never feels good to be discriminated against. It's my mission to tell everyone I know (black or white) about the terrible treatment we received in Jared. I'll NEVER go back there.

GREAT EXPERIENCE IN SKOKIE, IL
When I started thinking about an anniversary ring, I thought I'd look in stores for ideas and use those as a launchpad for designing my own. I never expected to fall in love with an existing ring in a chain store, but the Leo anniversary ring at the Jared in Skokie, IL just floored me. It's been a year now, and I still love it.

The salesperson I dealt with was initially a bit too pushy, but only by a hair. She quickly got the hint to dial it down a bit. No harm, no foul.

Customer service has been excellent. I bought the extra policy with no regrets -- while I don't wear the ring when I'm doing "heavy" work, I do wear it most every day. When I brought it in for a semi-annual inspection/cleaning, the jeweler told me that the little diamond on the inside "Leo" logo had fallen out (again, since I rarely take it off I hadn't noticed), and that they would replace it with another tiny Leo at no cost. Which they did.

Brought it in again today for its six-month "check-up." Salespeople were gracious and pleasant.

I just wanted to let you know how unhappy I am being a costumer at Jared. my fiance bought my ring last September, he bought all insurance they told him he needed, then when my first little diamond fell out of the side they fixed it no problem at all, then again a diamond on the side of my ring fell out and everything went crazy they told me He had never purchased any sort of insurance and if I wanted it fixed I had to pay the full amount,I then left so upset with a missing diamond on my ring and embarrassed how this conflict became a store wide thing where he said she said . I then went home looking though all the files and found a insurance receipt with the date and time printed on back. So I brought that there to show them I wasn't crazy. and they told me I was not supposed to have that and it was a mess up and then ripped it up. I had so many problem with Jared. I really thought this was going to be the easy and best part of planning a wedding but it has become the most stressful part.I never wear my ring to work or bed and iam very careful with it.still I loose so Many diamonds. I am constaly in there to fix my ring. I always feel like Iam bothering everyone when I walk in and thay have better things to do. my fiance hates walking in there. before all this i put a ring on layaway there. and now we don't know if we still want to buy from Jared's.

BAIT AND SWITCH! We purchased 2 wedding bands from Jared in Maplewood Minnesota. We didn't put a down payment on the rings we paid for the rings. Almost a week after we paid for the rings our salesperson called to tell us one of the rings has been discontinued but they have the "new" version of it available for order but it is $300 more. We told them no and to cancel the entire order. When I went in to get the money refunded they still had the ring they sold me on display. BAIT AND SWITCH! BAIT AND SWITCH! BAIT AND SWITCH! I have never had a problem with Jared and am surprised to hear all the negative feed back, I find them to be much better in services and service than any other large jewelry chain. I have been to at least 4 different locations in the Chicago area and have always had the same great experience each time. The real benefit is to have the jeweler on sight willing to take care of my concerns and with a 6 month warranty to back up their work! No one else offers that. So I'm surprised about all the negative feed back that they are receiving on this web site, I find them to bu ethical and honest in their business practices, and will continue to recommend them to my friends and family members.

Well, basically, STAY AWAY!!!! Today, me and my friend went to an amusement park, and, i know you're laughing, but, while we were there, my friend found a loose what seems to be diamond. When we went to the Jared to see if it was real, even though we had already done a few tests, such as the breath test/scratch test, he took a "diamond detector" and used it on our gem. He then took out several diamonds in a gold ring, and the detector rang that it was real. He "said" they were fake, and probably cubic zirconium. However, we had already ruled that out, plus glass and quartz, with the breath test. The only other thing we could think it could be was moissanite. However, with a little research, we figured out that the "detector" would show the same results on moissanite as a diamond. In other words, it would have rang to moissanite as if it were a diamond. So, the only logical explanation is that he was not certified (as shown on these boards) or was lying to us, without it being turned on when he tested. So, basically, LAWSUIT TIME!!!!!!!

I am really surprised by the negative comments about Jared. My husband purchased my engagement ring there and everyone was wonderful! We took the ring to get it appraised independently and it was appraised at $4500 more than he paid. I later made a purchase for my mother and then returned it two weeks later (decided to buy a watch rather than a necklace) with no problems whatsoever. We also purchased our wedding rings there and had a wonderful experience. I have had positive experiences in all of the St. Louis area Jared stores.

every time i step into jared, the galleria of jewelry, someone is trying to sell me something that i don't want or need. often times it is some poorly dressed woman who thinks that showing off her saggy chest will get her more sales. the lack of professionalism at the lakeline mall store in cedar park tx is astounding. the employees are always seeming to be on vacation. they talk to eachother as if they weren't on the job. there was one pair of employees that seemed to be too friendly with eachother. i have a feeling that employees aren't supposed to be in relationships with eachother, but these two were clearly involved. the public desplays of affection were embarassing and annoying. the man had the nerve to ask me if i needed help and then proceeded to go back to flirting with the woman. it was the worst experience i've ever had at jared. i went in to pay my bill for a crappy piece of jewelry that i was stuck with, and they tried to sell me more crap all the while having their hands all over eachother. not a good selling environment.

bought 1/5 carat diamond bracelet from Manchester,N.H. store. Went to return after 10 days(30 day return policy full refund) was not honored! I was told that since the necklace was shortened to 17" from 18" that voids the deal as it is now classified as "a custom order" At no time was i told this and also wanted to buy a separate chain. I was talked out of this and they offered to shorten for free!!!!I have contacted my attorney and will also contact the media, atty general, bbb and anyone else that will listen. the worst customer service that i have experienced.........

I bought my wife of 31 years an $18,000.00 ring at the Jareds in Gilbert, AZ. Beautiful ring. About a year later my wife noticed a chip out of the ring.(she wore it every day and just felt it one day) So thinking we could just use our warrenty we purchased with the ring, we took it in. Weeks later and lots of double talk we are told it is a "natural inclusion". This is the term they use when ever they are faced with a diamond gone bad. Be careful with these people. They do not honor their warrenty. My wife is understandibly very upset by this and refuses to wear the ring in its' current condition. You're better off ordering on line at a discount house with no warrenty. I will never go back to Jareds.

I bought my daughter an ankle bracelet and a pair of earrings at the New Orleans store for a total of $500. Within weeks, the ankle bracelet fell apart and they claimed that since we didn't buy an "extended warranty" (on jewelry? come on!) they were not responsible. After paying to fix it twice, the ankle bracelet fell into pieces and they did nothing. The earrings, which she has worn a total of 10 times, lost diamonds the first time she wore them; they wanted to charge her to fix them. The diamonds fell out again, and after constant arguments with the rude and obnoxious salespeople and supposed "manager" who sounds like a flunky, they fixed it as if they were doing us a favor. The earrings were fixed four times in a year and finally fell apart. They are totally rude, could care less, and refuse to give us a credit -- only say (again after hours of arguments with a bunch of morons) that "jewelry is delicate and we should have bought the warranty." Yes, jewelry that is made like garbage certainly is delicate. I am pursuing this with customer service and consumer affairs and will go as high as I have to. They shouldn't be in business with their seedy merchandise and worse customer service.

Pros: None

Cons: Cheaply made overpriced merchandise; rude salespeople; non-existent customer service

Once you buy something be ready for major stress. Jared is HORRIBLE at living up to their promise that "we will do anything to make her happy." Their return policy is junk! Within 30 days: what if it was bought as a present and isn't given to her for a month. Plus we tried to return within 30 days and they would accept but only give store credit.
Once you buy they own you! If anything goes wrong be ready to pay even if you have the insurance policy they push on you.
STAY AWAY FROM JARED!

I hope I am rating the Jared's Jewelry. The commercial on TV is so inviting for men but I told my husband if he ever steps foot back into Jared's he can tell it to the Judge. In 2004 Xmas Time, my husband bought me a diamond bracelet for Xmas. I just had a heart attack and I was down. I wore this bracelet one time and it broke..not at the clasp but the gold metal split in half. Husband took it back and it was resoddered. I put it in its box and never wore it again until a year later. I wore it twice and it broke again in the same place. I notified Jared's and told them of my dilema and he said we should of bought a policy. I said why would we buy a policy...for gold. Gold should not be breaking in two pieces. He informed me that this will cost me now. I explained I was a heart pateint and had a year of rehab and never wore the bracelet. This did not cut it. I told him I can see where a policy would come in for a lost stone but not gold breaking and again in the same place. he was not sympathetic. Well, we took it to a very good Jewelry Store and they fixed it and I have been wearing it all the time and no more problems. In fact hubby bought me another gold bracelt at the new jewlers and no problems. No problems at all. We refer others to the Jewelry store that did help. I feel the bracelet was inferior. We will not recommend Jared's.

Just went to the store in Plano, Texas today. I needed some diamonds set in my new custom ring that I had made. The sales guy was a COMPLETE ASSHOLE to me! My setting was a 3 stone, 3 sided pave diamond ring set in palladium. It was a 3 stone ring that was TEMPORARILY set with CZ's because I already had the diamonds and was just going to have my local jeweler set the diamonds instead of risking shipping them off. Anyway, the asshole who by the way is a JEWERLY SALESMAN (low life) gets all snotty with me and says, "We dont work on CZ'z". I say, I understand...your taking Cz's OUT your putting diamonds IN. He said, "I understand, but we dont' work on them or want them in our store." I was so pissed because I had always taken my jewelry to be worked on there and actually had driven an hour just to go to their store. My husband has been instructed to NEVER buy anything from them again. PISS POOR customer service. And since when do freaking sales clerks who only make 35,000k a year get freaking attitudes?

In May 2007 I purchased a $10,000 ring at the Woodbury, NY location. This was supposed to be a special time as I was getting ready to propose to my girlfriend of 8 years. I had the ring specially designed, picked out a beautiful stone, and walked out a happy man. They gave me the certificate for my very expensive diamond as well as an appraisal from their jeweler/designer.
With devine intervention I bump into an old friend of mine who I see very rarely. He told me how his father just got into the jewelry business, and all these other details. Within two hours, I'm at his store and being told the ring I am holding is only worth maybe $3,500. I immediately think this guy is trying to get me to return it and spend my money with him. So I take it for face value and go to a certified gemologist in Manhattan. Guy tells me, "Ring is worth $3,600. I almost soil my pants. He points out all these imperfections in the diamond. Basically, I just got beat! I speed back to the Jared store about to beat the hell out of everyone in my way! I show them the appraisal I just got and the jeweler is like "this guy doesn't know what he is doing, was he certified?" I showed him the guy's stamp and seal for his license. Ironically Jared's jewelers are not certified, they provide BS appraisals, and are total con artists. And just so everyone here knows, so are all those other chains including Kay Jewelers, Zales, and God knows what other chains are out there. I got my money back immediately once I called my lawyer in front of the store manager. They try to play games saying "oh the diamond we gave you was not the right one, it was our mistake, let us fix it." BS, don't go to any of these chains!!!

BY FAR THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE! My fiance and I are on vacation in St.Petes Florida, and he proposed to me on the 28th of December. He bought the ring from Jared across from Tyrone Mall on the 27th. They told him they mounted the ring crooked so once he proposed to me he was to bring the ring back. We brought it back the day after and they told us they had a new ring and they lied to us and they didnt do that at all, they tired to give us a smaller band thinking we were too stupid to notice. So they took it back and said they would fix it and we went back later. I was SO excited that I just overlooked the ring and took it home. I looked at it when I got home, and one side of the mounting was dipped deeper plus the same side was thicker and crooked. The ring was also too big, although my fiance told them I was a size 5. So we called, told them our situation, when I got there, I told Chris the manager it was too big, it was bigger than a size 5. He then told me well it is a size 5 and got a sizer to show me. I picked a new band to make it easier for the jeweler so he wouldnt have anymore troubles, we go to the beach come back and the ring was perfect, I tried it on, took it home again. I get home, and the ring is almost slipping off of me. They didnt make it any smaller, so I went back today. We went in and told Darlene our saleswoman that it was too big and she was like 'well HE(my fiance) told us you were a size 5) and then she told me they could size it within an hour. We were on our way down to Alligator Alley, about a 4 hour drive from St.Petes. We all made arrangements for my grandfather to pick up the ring, so we started driving. An hour into our trip DARLENE(our salesperson) called us and told us the jeweler CHIPPED MY DIAMOND! And to top it off, they didnt have any diamond in the store of same quality. DARLENE said don't worry about it, she would search all the Jared affiliate stores, and to trust her and to continue on our trip since it was our last day and she would find the perfect diamond of same quality. She called us back halfway on our trip and said she couldn't get the same quality diamond anywhere, we had 2 options either to ship the ring to us in canada, in 30 days and I've already announed to all my friends and family that we're engaged I didn't want to come home with no ring, or we could get a full refund. I was so upset I started to cry, it was sappose to be a happy time, finally engaged, and we have had so much trouble with the ring and it was totally ruining my last day and whole trip really. I called back the manager and was crying on the phone and told her that this wasn't right, I didn't want to leave Florida without a ring, and that if she couldn't find something equal, I should be getting something just above it to go home with, and she said she wasn't allowed to do that since she had already talked to head office. By the time we were almost to Alligator alley we had to turn back. Today is new years eve and everything closes early. We had to rush back to see if we could get something else and in the meantime my fiance called head office, we told someone our situation and she said she would call us right back, and she never did. A couple hours later we got back to St.Petes and went to Bond Diamonds near Tyrone Mall as well. I picked out a ring of better quality for a cheaper price and it was sized within 15 minutes. My fiance went back to Jared to get a refund and they tried to appologize and he just left.
This is the most awful experience I have ever had, and your engagement is sappose to be the most wonderful thing ever. I hope no one goes to Jared and they go out of business, they're terrible people, it's a terrible business, they don't care about anyone or anything but money, they're cheap and have the worst customer service I have ever EVER experienced at ANY business.

My wife's 2.37ct emerald engagement ring had become worn so badly that the diamonds in the band had begun to fall out. So, my wife and I shopped at Jared's new Bridgeport store in Portland Oregon on Christmas Eve 2007 and found a wonderful band to re-set our Emerald engagement stone into. Before we bought it we were assured that their repair center would mount the emerald in the new setting and that it would cost $150.00. We were also told that since it was an emerald we would probably need to sign a waiver. The jeweler that would be doing the repair work was not there at the time so we decided that we should talk with him first. When we returned two days later all was going well. We talked to the original saleswomen who had been wonderful to work with and then we talked to the jeweler who told us there was a one-in-five chance that the emerald might be damaged so the store would probably need us to sign a waiver of responsibility before he could do the work. At this time my wife and I were about to agree to have him do it when the "store manager" came up to us and announced that "guests do not sign waivers at Jareds". What??? She then started saying something about having to get permission from the home office in order for us to be able to sign a waiver. When my wife said she didn't understand because we had been told by three Jared's employees that we would need to sign a waiver she said "You are not listening to me!" Can you believe that? Then this "store manager" confronted the saleswomen right in front of us asking her, "tell me one person that you saw sign a waiver?" and when she couldn't think of one right away the "manager", interrupted like a ten year old and said, "See, you can't think of one because you never saw anyone sign a waiver". After this we asked the "manager" for her business card and instead she gave us the assistant manager's card and scribbled her name on the back ("Paula" we think). Then she said she would get back to us and let us know what the home office said. Big surprise that in less than two hours she called and said that they wouldn't work on the ring for us. What a nightmare! My wife and I are ecstatic and kissing and happy and then they pull the rug out from under us like that. I plan on telling this story to the district manager before the "store manager" fires one of the nice employees that were so helpful when she should be the one that gets the axe!

I was in Jared's several weeks ago for their Grand Opening at Keystone in Indianapolis. I purchased a .25 carat right hand ring for so cheap! While there I browsed their selection of engagement rings. Beautiful diamonds all loose so you can set them in the setting you like, and the sales people were super friendly and taught me several things about diamonds. I was very impressed, and mentioned it to my boyfriend - who became my fiance two days ago-with a gorgeous Jared princess cut ring! It's one of the best jewelry experiences in Indy.

I also am very surprised by the comments about Jared. I had two associates help me in my decision to buy an engagement ring. They spent quality time with me and even called me on my cell phone 10 minutes after I left the store to let me know that they found a Diamond that was actually bigger and better for $200 less. They put the diamond in a platinum setting and I think its the prettiest ring I've seen. The prices were reasonable as I got my my ring two toned with 9 diamonds including a 1 carat Leo Diamond Brilliant cut for the center for about $7,600. This is a brand new store in Keystone at the Crossing in Indiana. The store was extremely well lit with a wonderful selection of Diamonds. My ring was fitted, and sized to be picked up at 1:00pm the following day. Over all this was an extremely positive experience.

My husband spent over $10000.00 on my engagement ring, wedding ring, and two wedding day gifts which is a ring and necklace. By engagement ring diamond came loose twice in 6 months, a sapphire has fallen out of my wedding band three times in 4 months, and a sapphire fell out of my sapphire necklace within the first 3 months. Jareds excuse is that I wear my jewelry when I sleep (which I dont) or that I use my hands too much.Seriously!!! Plus I sit at a computer all day. This is the worst place to buy any kind of jewelry. There is a reason they offer a lifetime warranty!!! Stay away from this place.Kmart would have better stuff!!

I'm really surprised by all the negative comments left here for Jared. I loved my experience shopping at the store. I was at the store in Tukwila, WA. As soon as I entered I was greeted by a couple associates. Soon after a sales rep approached me and asked me if I looking for something in particular. I said I was looking for either a Promise ring or and engagment ring, but with my price range it was most likely to be a promise ring. She of course as anyone would to get sales up she did show me the engagment rings first (what I would have done) and showed me ones that had a lower price. Though as soon as I looked for a bit and said that these were out of my range she dropped the subject of the engagment rings and brought me to the promise rings. She found the exact ring that I after I told her what I was looking for. The only downside to the transaction is I was quoted to the wrong price (only by 14 bucks) but when I was told that they threw in a free jewelry box (a big one at that. Just to add another comment for them is that they don't just help the people that are dressed nice as some people would assume. I had just got off of work and was in my work shirt (mind you my work shirt is a polo shirt with a company logo on it) a full tattoo sleeve, tattoos on my neck and facial piercings. So they don't have a biased opinion. Sorry if this review is hard to follow, this is a first time reviewing something. Hope this helps. I highly recomend them for anyone to shop at.

In Feb 2007 I got a wedding ring from Jared's Parks Mall store in Arlington TX. In August one of the diamonds fell out. Luckily I had bought the policy that replaces and fixes anything that is lost or broken. I took the ring to Jared's on August 18 and was told they couldn't fix it in-house and they would send it to corporate to get it fixed because of the special setting. They said it would be ready Sept 18. On Sept 17 I called to make sure I could pick it up the next day. They didn't know where it was or when it would be ready. They had to send it to an outside vendor to fix. I had not been notified that it wouldn't be ready and that it would be going to some unknown (to me) jewelry store. The store was in New York. The manager of the store has been absolutely no help to me and as of today - Oct 10, 2007 - I still don't have my ring or even know where it really is. Jared's offers the worst customer service ever. I will never do business with them again.

I'm sad to say that although this is the only place we found the exact band that we wanted, the HORRIBLE customer service has lead us elsewhere. I have NEVER been treated so badly in a retail situation. My fiance even had racial slurs made at him by the sales associate working with us! I couldn't believe it!!! If you're in the salt lake area you should definitely go elsewhere for your jewelery needs unless you don't mind being treated poorly.

Ack! My fiance and I went to Jared first because he bought a watch there a couple years ago and they were excellent to him and I was excited because we were looking for my engagement ring and this was the first store. Well I was SORELY disappointed! As soon as we walked in a woman was standing by the door and she looked at us and sighed...we were standing right in front of her she was like what are you looking for? We told her that we are looking for a solitaire round or square diamond white gold engagement ring with a 500 dollar limit and I know thats low but thats what we have...I dont want to go bankrupt for a stupid ring...anyway she completly ignored us and took us to a section of 1000 dollar rings...and said its not that much more...and I was so upset by this time I was looking for a way out and I said no...our limit is 500 and she was like...SIGHHH and took us to a different section of rings that were around 600-800...I said I'm looking for a more unquie band..rather than a big diamond...she ignored me....and kepts picking up the cheapest plainest ring in the box.....it was at the tukwila,wa store...her name was Kornelia...HORRIBLE WOMAN! Go to Shane Company instead muchhhhhh better not on commision either! Oh and the guy that always helped my fiance with his watch...works at Shane Company now....he quit from Jared!

BUYER BEWARE! My husband purchased a LeVian chocolate diamond ring for me for valentine's Day. With it we got a trade in contract which allows you to trade up for a ring of the same price or more at their once a year leVian show. I went in to browse and found a ring that was a couple hundred dollars more. I was told by the sales assoc and the levian rep that the ring had to be more than $500 more than the cost of my ring. I was then told that the Levian ring that I was shown by the sales associate was not a ring that could be traded up on, although it was a levain piece. After going home and digging up my contract it stated exactly what I had thought. the levian rep tried to say that someone accidedntallly gave me the wrong contract and they do not have that offer anymore and have not for over 5 years. They tried to not honor a legal and binding contract by blaming it on training issues. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. BAIT AND SWITCH!

Worst jeweler EVER! I brought 3 of my own high quality diamonds to be set/mounted into a three stone setting. After only 3 weeks, one of the diamonds fell out! I was VERY lucky to have found the diamond, and brought it to another jeweler to get checked out. The jeweler told me he could fix it but I should bring it back to the place I bought it since it was definitely their fault since one of the prongs wasn't cut deep enough to hold the diamond. Jared's of course didn't think it was their fault and said you never know why they fall out. The people in the store were EXTREMELY rude. When I emailed customer service, they were not helpful at all and were just as rude. The diamonds there were of lower quality and more expensive then a lot of other places. There is NOTHING good about these stores. Please think twice before purchasing anything from their stores!

My mother bought a pair of diamond and pink sapphire earrings as well as a pink, yellow and white gold anklet for my birthday a little over a year ago. I loved the anklet so I wore it almost every day except in the shower or when I went to bed and because the earrings were so precious I wore them only on special occassions. The anklet broke within 1 month of the purchase, but I had to wait until I got back to school to have it fixed since there is not a single store near me and the store I bought it in is in New Orleans. I went in October to have the bracelet fixed and they told me because I did not buy the ESP (extended service plan of $25) that I would have to pay $45 to have it fixed. The $45 happens to be approximately 1/3 of the price of the bracelet. This in itself was ridiculous. I had it repaired anyway since I loved the bracelet, but it broke again 2 weeks later. When I brought it in they had it fixed for free, but said that future repairs would not be free unless I either bought the ESP or it broke in the exact same spot. It broke again in another spot and if I do anything more with this anklet it will be melting it down to turn it into something of better quality.
The earrings are a whole different story. Two of the small diamonds on the earrings fell out in the same spot on both earrings after only 2 or 3 wears!!!! I brought the earrings in to have the diamond replaced at the same time I brought the anklet in and they fortunately replaced them for free. After about 4 or 5 more wears I noticed that a diamond in a different spot had fallen out. It was finals time so I decided to wait until I got back home and would take a road trip with one of my friends to have the diamonds replaced. I drove all the way to Boston from NY and after a half hour ordeal with the manager and one of the sales people found out that I had to pay a $35 fee to have the diamond replaced since it was not within the 6 months period of the last inspection. Apparently I have to have the earrings inspected every 6 months in order for them to replace the diamonds for free. I was not informed of this at the time of the original purchase or even when I had it fixed the first time. I have never heard of such a thing from any jewelry store anywhere!!!
The jewelry is crap. The extended service plan is just a way for you to pay more for their crappy jewelry and have it repaired for free (but unless you plan on going to the store every 2-3 weeks, I wouldn't bother). Their rules for returning and replacement are ridiculous and I will never buy anything from them ever again and encourage everyone else to stay away as well.

My husband purchased a 1.5 ctw three stone diamond ring for me. Might I add, he payed a small fortune for this ring. Platinum mount, 14k gold setting, supposedly good quality diamonds. It had to be sized down to fit my finger; we were to pick the ring up the day after purchase. Immediately after picking it up, we noticed that the center stone had what appeared to be a crack in the side. While examining the crack, my husband noticed that one of the side stones was so loose, it would freely spin in a circle! The other side stone was also loose. We returned the ring and will not be doing business with Jared or any of their associate companies ever again. Buyer beware!

I have no complaint about the quality of the jewlry that we purchased, but when I wanted a different chain they told me that they would order it, but because it was Sunday they could not call that day. They weree supposed to call on Monday. two weeks later I called and they did not know anything about my request another week later they told me that they don't make the chain in 20" length. That makes no sense because 20" is a standard length. If they could not get it they should have said it is out of stock or we can not get it! I purchased another chain at another jewelry store. They also did not have it in stock but got it for me in 3 days and it was cheaper to "boot". Stay away a jewery store that lies about a chain what else will they lie about.

My fiance and I went ring shopping and I found a ring I liked at Jareds. He bought the ring and proposed this past summer. From day one, the ring was a poor design. It actually CUT IN TO the flesh on my finger. After at least a dozen trips to the store to get the design fixed, we were told that the style I had was actually pulled off their shelves for being noted as "the ring that hurt people". In the meantime the only consolation Jareds would offer was to upgrade to another ring. We did that. When the second ring was sized down to my size (early November), it was sized poorly and the bottom of the ring was made SO THIN, it was barely thicker than that of a sheet of paper. The band was made of platinum and so when I showed it to the asst store manager, she said "Its platinum, its fine." Well, 2 months later, the band was bent. Completely flat on the bottom. Platinum should not bend! When we brought it back to the store the SAME asst store manger looked at it and said "Whats wrong with it?" after seeing that it was completely flat on one side. At that point she said that since it had been over 30 days since the upgrade in November, they could not return our money but instead we could do YET ANOTHER upgrade. We went to a different store and did an upgrade. Once again, the ring is garbage. This time we added another $300, (thats $700 OVER what the original cost of the ring was) and the entire band is hollow on the inside. It cuts into my finger AGAIN. Now all of a sudden the policy has changed - it is not 30 days from the date of purchase/upgrade that a refund can be given, but 30 days from the ORIGINAL date of purchase. The district manager (Allen) told my fiance to go ahead and file a dispute with the credit card company because they would not be able to give him his money back.

Due to all of the strain this issue has caused on our relationship, our engagement is postponed right now, and we are still fighting to get a refund.

DO NOT SHOP AT JAREDS.

I wrote a complaint about Jared Jewelers and how a store in Georgia damaged my engagement ring. I was having problems with the store manager and workers really acting like they were not concerned about the issue. Things did not get better until I called the district manager and had a long talk with him. My fiance also talked with him and everything got resolved. He was professional and really made me believe he was looking out for my best interest. I want to thank him for caring.

If we could only turn back the hands of time, my husband and I would never have waleed into Jared. We were measured in the store and ordered our wedding bands, but apparently Joy disregarded the measurements and ordered both rings in "stock size". My husband had to make three extra trips back and forth to the store to get his ring stretched. No compensation, no apology, and the store acted as if they were doing us a favor by sizing the ring they had ordered incorrectly. Meanwhile, I had also taken my engagement ring in to be resized, and the jeweler broke the platnum ring in half while cutting it off. I understand that accidents happen, but then when they promised to fix it, it came back looking nothing like my engagement ring. Three tries, three trips, and quite a few tears later it's decent, but I miss my old ring. Jared, fyi, also only engraves in ALL CAPS, which looked ridiculous on my dainty band. But here is the real problem, and I why after visiting Jared both with a rational list of complaints on two occassions, and then in tears on two additional occasions, spending hours on the phone with customer service, and getting no satisfaction whatsover, I am writing this review to encourage you to STAY AWAY so that you are spared the frustration that I've experienced. Wedding bands carry a lot of emotion - they are a symbol of commitment, one that will hopefully be worn for the rest of my life. I must have visited 100 jewelry stores in the quest for the perfect wedding band, and again I wish that I turn back the clock because what I got was a slopily made piece of junk - oh, and in the wrong size, too. The ring I ordered had ten evenly spaced small diamonds around a thin band. It had a sizing bar and curved edges. The ring my finace picked up, however, had 11 unevenly spaced diamonds (it's quite comical to look at, really). It had sharp edges and no sizing bar. Do you know what the store gave us as compensation? A $10 Jared gift card. Miserable.

I took my Omega watch in to have a link put in and after doing so I noticed that the pin kept slipping out. I took the watch in a few days later to have them fix it and the man doing the work noticed that there were several pins slipping. I had purchased the watch from Jared a few months earlier and they figured that it was a manufacturer error...they gave me a brand new watch, no questions asked. I have always been pleased with the service that I have gotten at Jared, and the speed and perfection of the repair work that I have had done on my jewelry is wonderful! They have a HUGE selection of jewelry, and very good quality.

Around a year ago I bought a ring for my girlfriend for our 3 year anniversary and their service, quality, and prices made me come back to buy her the beautiful engagement ring that she will hopefully say yes to on valentines day. The diamond looks amazing and they made my custom ring exactly as I visioned it. I will definately use them for all future jewelry purchases
