Tricky one but here goes. First I have to agree with Solenoid on one point. Gay people are individuals and to lump them into something called a community and to assume that they all hold the same opinions is unfair. Secondly, I'm not convinced that I know how he feels about gay people. He's the son of two fair-minded individuals who I'm pretty sure never taught him to descriminate. His intense reaction to gay marriage - I think - is a result of needing to please his supporters on the far right of his party. I've never heard him say that gay people should be treated as second class citizens and not afforded all the rights guaranteed to all of us by the constitution. The one point on which he's been vehement is this marriage thing.. and there are many liberals and even gay people who don't agree about that one. Do I think he's a great friend and supporter of gay Americans? No. Of course not. He's offered no leadership whatsoever on that score. But I don't think he's out to get anyone either. I bet that in his own heart he doesn't understand homosexuality and doesn't even have an opinion about gay people.

First of all, this is a total lie, completely without any foundation. And those who are telling it know that it's a lie, meant to try to pressure the president to address their favored issues. Secondly, it's foolish to lump all homosexuals into a group and call them a community. We may have our differences, but as far as I'm concerned, we're all Americans, not groups of little warring factions.

Before i used to think Bush was difficult than discusting but now there are no words left that can possibly describe him and his followers he has broken America that far and the republicans dont seem to give a danm. The man is a nutcase he deserves to be locked up.There is absolutely no reason why two men or two women should not be able to marry its just Bush's homophobia thats allit is.
