 | irishgit (145) 05/20/2007 | Delicious. Far, far better than chicken.
Just make sure you perfect your Bugs Bunny impression so you can entertain the family at the dinner table when you serve it.

 | twansalem (38) 10/09/2006 | Rabbit is definitely not my favorite, and it's usually a little on the tough side, but I can definitely eat it if I'm hungry.

 | LastMessenger3 (40) 10/08/2006 | My mom sais that rabbit tastes like chicken and I love chicken, but can't eat rabbit. Such a cliche.

 | Boxers'n'Danes (1) 08/25/2005 | Rabbit doesn't taste all that bad, but if you want me to eat it, CUT THE HEAD OFF BEFORE YOU PREPARE IT! My mom failed to do just that, after a family friend had slaughtered one for us to take home (thanks dad, for saying that that one looked cute!!!). So when it came time to open the oven and take out her creation, the darn thing was staring right at me. My dad was the only one who ate that night.
To numbah: You guys are ... nuts. I love Marines, have lots of friends there, but you all are nuts. ;-)

 | edt4 (103) 08/19/2005 | I was in California some years ago with friends who knew of a local restaurant near San Diego that specialized in rabbit, and they invited me there one night for dinner. Perhaps they thought I might find it a bit too esoteric for my tastes, or exotic, but I was game (pardon the bad pun). In truth, it made no particular impression on me. If I had the opportunity again to eat it, would I? Sure. If I never ate it again, would that bother me? Not at all. I think the only meat that would cause real revulsion in me would be rat. I know in Hong Kong, there used to be (and they may still exist) fast-food restaurants that specialized in rats. Yum...

 | Gentle Jude (23) 08/19/2005 | It is an old dish and apparently it is nice. I suppose it is psychological why some may not like it. Because rabbits are small like rats so people think they are eating a disgusting rodent.

 | kamylienne (78) 08/17/2005 | I can't do it. Not that it's that disgusting, but I've got two of 'em living with me, and all they want is to be pet and fed and played with. How could I ever eat something that I love so much? (Again, yet another good reason why I'll never have a pet cow or chicken; I'd end up starving myself!)

 | GenghisTheHun (171) 08/17/2005 | I have eaten tame rabbits and I have eaten cottontails. After reading IJR, I shall have to try Jackrabbit. I always thought that the jacks would be tougher since they are a hare and not a rabbit. Rabbit is good, but the way, and many recipes abound.

 | numbah16tdhaha (151) 08/16/2005 | We had a rabbit show in the Marines. At Mountain Warfare Training they bring out a live rabbit, then proceed to kill it and skin it, just to show us how. At one point the instructor said, Every part of this rabbit is edible, and then sucked one of its eyes right out of its skull. Private Johnson volunteered to eat the other and said it tasted pretty foul. TO IRISH: People were doing Bugs impressions with the head of the above mentioned rabbit. I wish I were making this up.

 | Randyman (104) 08/16/2005 | Better than chicken! Rabbit can be used in any recipe that calls for chicken, especially rice dishes like Arroz con Pollo (Chicken & Rice), Paella and Jambalaya. It fries up just as good as chicken too.

 | Sundiszno (30) 08/16/2005 | I like rabbit a lot, although it's been a while since I've had any. One of my aunts in Italy used to make it broiled with potatoes - it was excellent. Like so many other meats, some people say it tastes like chicken, but it doesn't. It tastes like rabbit! And to think I'm settling for chicken tonight!

 | texasyankee (21) 08/16/2005 | I tried, honestly I tried to eat rabbit. I bought it, had my husband cook it up (he said he used to cook it a lot) and just as I was bringing it to my mouth, I started thinking about the cute little fuzzy critter, nose a twitching and hopping around all cute and all. I couldn't do it. I just could not eat it :(
