Not the first choice of food I'd like to eat but it is meant to be a delicacy in Scotland.

Its not disgusting at all, but its a long way from delicious. It tends to be dry and dull, and could use a hell of a pile of gravy or (dare I say it) ketchup. Goes better with a few drams of Islay malt.

Well. I'm not Scottish, but it sounds good to me, Genghis.

Now just a minute here! Every year I attend the annual Burns Dinner that occurs on or about January 25, the poet's birthday. The ceremony starts with Ode to a Haggis where the entire poem is recited from memory. We then eat it. Now I have to admit that we have copious amounts of strong waters from Caledonia to wash it down along with several gallons of McEwans Scotch Ale. Haggis is the heart, lungs, and other internal organs of the sheep, along with barley, oatmeal, spices and pieces of the mutton, prepared as a pudding and cooked in a sheep's stomach. It tastes like a strong meat loaf! I expect the sons and daughters of Scotland to rally to the Haggis Cause!
