The Museum of Greek Folk Art, as the name suggests, highlights Greek traditional culture dating from the 1600s. Founded in 1918, the museum has grown to incorporate the full array of folk art in its exhibits. Included are displays of weaving, embroidery, painting, woodcarving and much more. The museum also maintains contacts in the provinces to both keep in touch with modern Greek traditionalism, and to build folk art collections in provincial museums as well.
