I consider my fondness for watching Paz fight as a guilty pleasure. I can't say that he would win, although in a Connecticut casino, he probably would. This would have been a great one to watch.

Arguably the best boxing book to come out during the last year was Bummy Davis vs. Murder,Inc. by Ron Ross(see RonRoss.Us).Before that, maybe the best sports story ever written was Brownsville Bum by WC Heinz. Recently,Ring Magazine rated Davis 54th of the 100 best punchers ever.Davis, who lost two non-title fights to welterweight champ Fritzie Zivic, was temporarilly suspended for life for retaliating against illegal tactics by Zivic and was gunned down, while stopping a bar holdup with his fists. Vinnie Pazienza, who won various titles at several divisions, was disqualified against Loreto Garza for the 140-pound title, and basically floated past 147;for this fight, the money would be right. Unlike Davis,Pazienza made a great comeback from an auto accident;like Davis,Pazienza wasn;t quite a superstar, but a solid fighter with a big following.Davis and Pazienza would make a great fight and a great Miller Lite commercial.
