...or as I now call him regularly, Mike Hucksterbee. Seriously, this guy is a democrat in conservative Christian clothing. Just recently, he slammed the Bush Administration's foreign policy and seemed to channel John Edwards by weakly saying that terrorists must be attacked by "attack[ing] the underlying conditions that breed them: the lack of basic sanitation, health care, education, jobs, a free press, fair courts." Naturally, he also called for diplomatic relations with the Hitler of the 21st century, Mahmoud A-Mad-Man-in-a-Jihad.
Not only that, but Hucksterbee is weak on the most important issue of the 2008 election, in my opinion, illegal immigration. Constantly, he came out on the side of granting free education to illegal aliens among other things.
On crime, he also granted a disturbing amount of clemencies during his tenure of the governor of Arkansas.
And, as a secular republican, his overtly religious ways (George W. Bush, to compare and contrast, has always been more subtle and tasteful when evoking his religious beliefs, which I have a great respect for) such as signing a document in 1998 saying women should submit to their husbands and that he must "take back this nation for Christ!" is somewhat unsettling.
Overall, Hucksterbee is a democrat is republican's clothing. Or as Ann Coulter says, he is the "republican's Jimmy Carter." And, we all know how bad Carter was!
