This one sounds like the worst so far.I'd have to be awful hungry to eat any bugs, and maggots? What could be less appetizing?

I don't wanna even THINK about what this might look like. I don't care how much protein it might have.

Every time I think that this list has just about run its course, someone comes up with another good item to add. I've heard of maggot cheese before, but in the context of France. Never have had any personal exposure to it, but from what I understand, there is a cheese in France (not sure what region) that they allow to get infested with maggots. then they take a plate, warm it, and put a slab of this cheese on it. They consider the cheese to be really good if the warm plate disturbs the maggots so that they crawl around so much that they make the cheese move on the plate. I'm really set against eating anything that's still alive, let alone maggots.

I was at one of my offices, Murphys Strip Bar and Armenian Grill, and I mentioned to Irv Garcelon some of the foods listed on this site. He gave me a new one: maggot cheese. In Sardinia, the denizens of that otherwise sunny and pleasant isle, take a certain type of cheese, lay it out under cheesecloth, let the flies lay their eggs in it, and then after the maggots work on the cheese for a while, smear the whole concoction on bread, etc. I ran it on Google and a couple of other search engines, and there it is, ladies and gentlemen. I invite you to check it out for yourselves.
