The invertebrates that I enjoy eating are more or less limited to shrimp and crab, and only if they're prepared in certain ways. But if you enjoy eating snails, squid, grubs, crickets, or whatever other kind of invertebrate you can think to put in your mouth, just make sure it's not poisonous, and then go for it.

I definitely eat meat, but only certain kinds. I believe that there's nothing wrong with the usage of animals in this situation, but only under humane circumstances. And there are ways to do it humane if the slaughterhouses stay away from sloppy procedures.

And as far as invertebrates go, I don't eat snails, clams, worms, or any other slime that don't have a backbone.

There is no nutritional need for humans to eat any animal product; all our dietary needs, even as infants and children, are best supplied by a meatless diet.

I don't know of many creatures without a spine that I would eat, but if that kind of thing floats your boat, far be it for me to stop you.

If you count oysters, maybe lobsters as animal life, sure, I love lobster, oysters, clams, and do these things really need animal rights anyway?

I don't think that the oysters,  clams,  snails, mussels, and other such tasty fauna have much of a lobby to stop us from eating them!

I love eating lobster and crabs and such, but I try to avoid doing so as much anymore because I think it's just horrible that they're cooked alive. It's a terrible dilemma, as I've grown up eating a lot of seafood, but after seeing my mom crack open a blue crab while it was still alive, snapping it in half again, and then tossing it into a wok, I realized that they have to go through some pretty horrific things to get to my plate. Same goes with snails and various bivalves (clams, oysters & etc.); they've gotta be alive when you cook them. As hard as it is to give up eating it, I'm trying to wean myself off of it. Or at least cut down.

The observation by the earlier reviewer :I don't see the difference between these and other animals we eat. Either it's ethical or it's not, but it shouldn't depend on your personal preference - or mine is interesting. If we take the utilitarian attitude to animals, that they exist to serve humans a purpose and are devoid of any inherent rights, effectively deeming the welfare of animals as being beyond ethics, then to eat a mollusk is an ethically irrelevant act, as is eating pork from a pig reared in miserable conditions to minimize the expense of its conversion to pork, or killing a rabbit for its lucky paw. However, as the comments on other items in this list illustrate, the fact is that the majority of people do have a different attitude towards a mollusk and, for instance, rabbit. Even if they are willing to eat both, many people will feel outraged at a rabbit or a dog being maltreated prior to its death and will not really take exception to a mollusk being maltreated. To even talk about cruelty to mollusks sounds like a joke, and invites remarks about cruelty to plants, and why is this considered reductio ad absurdum? Because we have to eat organic matter of some sort to live and we do not believe that plants suffer in the way that mammals suffer. Likewise, it is doubtful whether invertebrates have the same capacity for mental and physical distress as a confined animal in a slaughterhouse. The ethical consideration, as I see it, is not so much the death (we all pretty much have to eat dead things as mentioned before), but rather the capacity for suffering, and in this context, while unappetizing, given what I know about invertebrates, I am not terribly troubled by people eating them.

Sounds gross, tastes weird, but hey, let the French eat snails if they feel like it! I don't see the difference between these and other animals we eat. Either it's ethical or it's not, but it shouldn't depend on your personal preference - or mine.
