I'm actually the opposite, I wouldn't hesitate one second to rescue my dogs.

Rescueing a dog from the shelter to train for search and rescue is wonderful, as long as that animal is not put in any danger. Breeding animals for search and rescue, putting animals in dangerous situations, breeding dogs for law enforcement, and using dogs as a weapon is cruel.

I have much more experience in avoidance of law enforcement than actual law enforcement, but domestic or abroad one can see the usage of dogs in the hands of trained professionals for security/enforcement reasons. But those movies that depict Nazis with those barking Shepherds do send chills down my spine. . .

A good thing, but for the hard core animal lovers among you, do a little research on what happens to a great many police dogs when they retire. What happens in most cases is the dog is destroyed when it can no longer function at full capacity. They are usually deemed too specially trained and too dangerous to be pets. Occasionally a former handler will take one on after retirement, but that is the exception, and not the rule.

Never underestimate the influence a very motivated police dog has on a fleeing suspect. Utilizing their sniffer also is a boon. :)

Yeah pigs are frequently used in law enforcement...mmmmm..just kidding. A good use for dogs instead of dogs messing up the house, barking or lying around being cute.

A lot of human lives have been saved because of these dogs. Even the ones who are rarely in danger like the explosive detection dogs I sometimes work with. Even the kadabra dogs make lives better by bringing closure to people who have lost loved ones.

Law enforcement dogs have more rights than you do. -- I give a 5 rating for rescue dogs however.

These are usally dogs, and they have a great time sniffing out stuff.

Yes, very useful proposes that these loyal and hard working animals serve. Not just in rescue but also the working relationship that these animals, especially dogs have in aiding people with disabilities. There has been shown a definite overall improvement in the mental health of the elderly who are in nursing homes and have animals brought in so that they can hold and pet them and interact with them. Horses serve in law enforcement as well and are also therapeutic in helping the disabled.

Good, mutually beneficial relationship between humans and animals.

A noble purpose. These animals are crucial to society.
