I played football with Lawrence in Europe and he was great guy there. He only had 3 screw ups. 1 at teh end of training camp while drunk running down the hall naked. 2. after loosing the world bowl at around 3:00 am dragging a girl by her hair out of his room. He once refused to practice and mocked OFF cordinator. Other than that he stayed out of trouble. His problems come around when he drinks. I thin the problem has only compounded b/c Tom Osbourne let him do what ever he wanted w/o any punishment. He really was a very talented running back though. I wish he would have learned sooner.

Lawrence Phillips definitely didn't help the reputation of student atheletes at Nebraska. The guy was complete trash, and in hindsight Nebraska probably shouldn't have let him play for them, despite his ability.

Southern California residents will be relieved to know that he has recently been taken into custody. After screwing his way up through the NFL and NFL Europe, Phillips came back to his hometown and proceeded to beat up on his romantic interest(s) (again). Apparently, there was a warrant out for his arrest for about a month due to an alleged attack upon his girlfriend in her apartment and at a party in San Diego. He was only located/apprehended in a local park when he became insensed with some teenagers during a pick up flag football game. He went to the parking lot, jumped in his Honda which he navigated onto the field and then ran over the trio of youngsters who had offended him.
