 | sperryc (29) 05/03/2006 | I used to live in Allston and would agree with all the comments I'm reading about it - pretty much everyone is either in college or recently graduated, there are more restaurants/bars than you could count, unspectacular architecturally, etc.
All in all, the Allston lifestyle is just a little bit crazier than, say, the Beacon Hill lifestyle. House parties spill out onto the street and pizza places stay open until 4am.
One of my favorite memories from living there is from the 2004 MLB playoffs, hearing people screaming and hollering all over the neighborhood whenever the Red Sox scored.

A lot of diversity in this neighborhood, some good bars if you're into that kind of thing, lots of good ethnic restaurants. Noisy though, a lot of students and rock bands live here, and driving around in it can be a challenge for even the savviest of native drivers.

 | pandacat (0) 09/08/2005 | Allston is a frenetic, messy, and diverse Boston neighborhood. Thousands of Brazilian immigrants and Jewish natives live here. Add some college students into the mix and you've got Allston. Boston's best rock clubs are in Allston (Paradise, Harpers Ferry, Great Scott..). Great neighborhood!

 | magellan (153) 08/31/2005 | Allston is alright. I think I'd love it if I was just out of school. It seems that everyone lives here is between 21 and 25, goes out more than four nights a week, and parties hard. Allston has great T access, and it's easy to get just about anywhere. I didn't think it had the same character architecturally as other parts of Boston, but there's definitely some nice places here.

 | caphillsea77 (29) 08/29/2005 | Allston is the epitome of a college neighborhood, almost overwhelmingly so. It has an amazing diversity of places to eat with cuisine from anywhere imaginable, one drawback is getting there, either on the very slow green line trolleys with so many stops or if your driving good luck finding a parking spot.
