Some things that are different about Crossroads: 1) There is a piano. 2) They seem to have a pretty full food menu, which I would like to try the next time I'm there. 3) I'm pretty sure that they serve wine. Service is nice and friendly, and there is plenty of room to stretch out, which can sometimes be a challenge in coffee shops. Well worth a visit.

Crossroads Cafe is a nice spot on a quiet block in South Beach. It's a big space with a gorgeous back patio, and excellent coffee. They don't have wifi - probably because if they had it, the place would be a zoo, with all the dot coms near by. This is definitely a nice spot to grab a coffee and a snack though.

A wonderful South Beach tradition--kind of the local bar of the coffee drinkers. They offer very resonably priced comfort food that goes great with reading, studying, or good conversation. The outdoor seating in their park provides a nice respite on the busy Embarcadero and a perfect place to stop before or after the ballgame. They also have Mitchell's ice cream and a great magazine selection. I highly recommend this place.
