I don't like Van Gogh, but decided to go since I would never hear the end of it from my father that I didn't take the opportunity to see art by his favorite artist. The museum was wonderful. I learned a lot about the life of Van Gogh and even walked away with an appreciation for his paintings. The one horrible thing was the security guard who was screaming on his cell phone the whole time I was on his floor!

The Van Gogh Museum has a great collection of his paintings. I like his art, so the museum was one of the highlights of my trip. Not to be missed if you like his style.

Not only is it amazing to see such a complete collection of Van Gogh's works in one place, but the Van Gogh Museum does a great job of telling the story that accompanies the different phases of Van Gogh's work, ending in his suicide. The museum leads you around a maze chronologically. By the end, I was pretty wrapped up in the story and the progression (and then degression) that you could see in his paintings. When his skills started to diminish and his madness became to great, there's a chilling quote from him that goes something like this "I know I am a failure and I have left nothing." If Van Gogh could only know the impact he had...
