OW!

This is another nasty one. My friend, and co-captain of my high school basketball team, was playing in a league game a couple of years ago. On a fast break he went up for a lay up. There was a loud SNAP - later descibed like a whip snapping - and my friend went down. He yelled for a foul, assuming the noise was a slap across the arm. It turns out his achilles had snapped. He wasn't walking normally again for something like 9 months, and never played basketball again. Stretch those achilles out before running... especially when it's cold out.
