Ursa Major, or Greater Bear, is a constellation that contains the grouping of stars that are the most known and recognizable in the northern sky, the Big Dipper, which is an asterism. The handle end of the ladle is the Ursa Majors tail and the bowl is its rear flank. The Big Dipper is comprised of seven stars; with Ursa Major having over sixteen stars and fairly recently having two planets found inside of it. It is also the third largest constellation in the sky. The far end of the bowl of the Big Dipper are two stars known as pointer stars, and are used as a guide that points toward the North Star or Polaris.
