I agree that Tim Couch is not a horrible quarterback. The thing is that he wasn't somebody who should be a #1 draft pick. First round possibly, but not #1. An NFL team would be kind of lucky to get Tim Couch as a back up QB right now, because he is pretty good at that. His career is not over at all. He has plenty of time to make something of himself and prove to the NFL world that he is a much better quarterback than what he was in Cleveland, which is a true statement.

Couch still has a shot at redemption, so I'm going to hold my fire for now. UPDATE: I'm upping this to a four because I heard a dirty rumor that Culpepper and McNabb were in the same draft class.

If you look at his numbers, Couch was never that awful as a player. He did alright, but unfortunately was stuck with an awful Browns team. I don't know if his career is completely over, but Couch is not as big a bust as some of these guys.

. . .close, but consider the fact that the Browns have been a snakebit franchise since their reincarnation and Couch has taken a beating for a below-average team. Still, a disappointment to be sure.

When he was injured, the Browns fans cheered. They were so desperate for a good QB they even called for Holcombe! He couldn't even get a job backing up Favre in Green Bay. He was a huge bust because after 3 years in Cleveland they gave up on him.
