I'm a big fan of horse-racing and I was a racing commissioner at the local track for a couple of years.

I'm aware that there can be abuses in the sport, but in my experiences, they are relatively rare.

I can't speak for dog racing or the more arcane forms of animal racing.

Greyhounds natural speed and grace have been exploited for human benefit since the days of the ancient Egyptians.

Horse racing is one of my favorite sports, its fast, exciting and full of suprises. Who wouldn't admire such great horses such as Secretariat, Seabiscuit or Affirmed. If you know what you are doing, you can win money at the track as well.

To be honest, i don't know much about horse racing, but I know a whole lot about the racing of greyhounds and its sickening! The fact that people enjoy that type of sport is rediculus! The animals are abused and when they reach four, if they can't find a person to adobt them, they are put to sleep! It's sad that people feel its ok to kill a dog just becuase it can't run in circles any more. Horrible practice!
