After being booed by the Bears home fans for two seasons, he rode the pine in his third with the Dolphins. He then went to the 49ers, and then I lost track of him except to note that he is out of football. He was a real load.

Points to the reviewer who claimed that Cade should have never been such a high pick that that doesn't refute an argument that Cade was a bust- he was indeed booed everywhere he went and there were more than a few whispers that he never really endeared himself to teammates or coaches. . .not a colossal bust but never seemed to live up to anything either. . .

Can you call Cade a Bust? He never should have been drafted that high. Sometimes you have to blame the team doing the drafting.

Although fans here is Chicago had really high hopes for him he was never thought to be a GREAT player like most the guys on this list. The real suprise is how did the Bears get a Sixth round pick and a swap of 7th round picks for him?

I don't think Cade McNown was ever thought of as a sure thing, unlike some of the other players on this list.

He certainly languished in Chicago but I don't think this guy can be considered a major bust b/c I don't believe expectations were that high for him. He had success at UCLA, but he was possessed of neither blazing speed nor classical drop-back passer skills.

Boos followed his every move until he faded into oblivion.
