Edward Barnard (1857-1923) was an American astronomer most noted for his his work around the gaseous emissions of novas, and his discovery of Amalthea, the fifth moon of Jupiter. Barnard has a star named after him, "Barnard's Star," for his work in studying this particular star. (Add picture)
