 | Dawnsdinos (6) 09/03/2005 | This is catastrophic if for no other reason then to a degree the gas companies are sticking it to everyone just to make a profit. When the whole thing is over and done we'll see just how much money they made off of us. This is the only reason this is so catastrophic, it's big businesses taking advantage of the consumers. I live 15 miles from work and there is not public transportation to get me there I have no choice but to pay whatever they charge. We also have a reserve of gas which we should be dipping into just to keep thing fair. I'm not saying the price shouldn't go up some but not at the rate it is.

 | James76255 (23) 09/03/2005 | Three dollars or so a gallon is nothing considering the situation. At least we still have access to gas, cars to put gas in, and homes with a driveway for the car. I'd happily pay $8 a gallon if it would give some of those people their homes back.

 | Mr.Political (20) 09/03/2005 | As a Hummer driver, few feel the pain of rising gas prices more than I but when you turn on the news and see the corpse of a man who tried in vain to walk five miles on a highway in search of a rescue team you know that there are many others paying higher prices as a result of Katrina.
