Sent out to the slaughter by the Japanese military leadership as a battleship Kamikaze, the Yamato never had a chance. Bereft of air cover, U.S. carrier planes treated her like target practice.

The ultimate sacrifice. A dark part of me almost would have liked to see this beast duke it out with an Iowa class.
