 | Aliveosirus (0) 08/15/2008 | Indeed applebees is horrible but it is always not the workers it has to do sometimes with brainless coustomers who would go to a restaurant when they are on a hour to 1 1/2 hour wait.If you are a paying coustomer and want to enjoy your meals show up when they are less busy. Same idea with any chain restaurant the busier they are the less attention is put into a single order, especially when they are trying to feed a full restaurant. In my exsperiences to many people chose to go to a busy restaurant and exspect their food to be perfec, well..... if thier was anything i could say to make it sound better i would but it's not going to happen. Plus from what i have seen the cook's arent the best choice of staffing many witch are criminals, Sex offenders, and drugies. the Waitstaff is medeoker and have little knowledge on how a true resaraunt works, If you enjoy waiting 30 min when you get your food to ask one of the waitstaff for another drink or so on then this is the restaurant for you. One of the only thing that appeals to the applebees customers is the cheap booze $2.75 for a 16.0z beer but take in mind what you may experience if thier is a game on televison..(not the so called perfect family enviroment).

 | silentrunning (0) 03/15/2008 | i work at applebees and i dread going there...
for the main reason, the pay is crap
the food is crap
the managers are crap
its going down hill
i would tell anyone not to work/eat there
if you eat there... you have no clue whats going on in the kitchen
do you think that applebees have the top chef of that city working there?
No way
the cooks are guys who have to work or they have to stay in jail all day.
food is plain awful
maybe apple bees is good somewhere else but certainly not Goergia

 | MDStewart (12) 01/16/2008 | The Applebees close to where I live use to have horrible service, yet I believe that's been resolved. Food, to me, is average and nothing to brag about.

 | CanadaSucks (50) 01/14/2008 | Average to below-average pub fare that has become slighty overpriced- and the service really varies (obviously) depending on where you are. . .a mixed bag at best and I only go here as a last resort while travelling. . .

 | WhatIGot1 (0) 01/13/2008 | I have worked at Applebees for two and a half years. I am appreciative that they have employed me and worked around my schedule while I am in college, however, this restaurant is quickly going downhill. Our managers, minus some exceptions over the years, have been downright unfit to manage McDonalds. Our current hostesses tell customers that "we don't be double seatin' round here." Not only are the hostesses completely incompetent but they also cost us money. Our cooks are just complete crap. They are slow and hate their lives or something. I have never worked in a restaurant where the cooks have been so hateful and rude. Outback Steakhouse was ten times better and a lot cooler. We also got this new spokesperson, Wanda Sykes. I can not stand this woman because her voice and humor irritate me incredibly. Our new uniforms blow and our new 3 course menu is a real pain. We actually have to make the deserts. When I have five tables the last thing I want to do is make a desert. This is a prime example of the sub par leadership at Applebees. Just as an example...Say you have five tables, roughly ten people get the three course combo...If you have been double or triple seated and even if not, this means that you are going to take a good chunk of time and concentration on making the deserts for the ungrateful people. Not only that, but you have to watch for 30 different items to go out just for ten people. This isn't completely blown out either. I had eight people order that 3 course combo within fifteen minutes the other night. So, not only am I now dealing with rude people, rude cooks, a high expo, incompetent managers (sometimes),but I also have to prepare their food myself. Basically this means I have to take on a huge responsibility to make your food good. Next time you eat at Applebees or any other restaurant, cut your server a break...Most of the time they do not want to serve you or talk to you...From my exprience people are not enjoyable and I just want to get them out of there. Remember that the server is just that...Wise up people..We are just a link in the chain and do not oversee the complete production of your Applebees food. I really do think it is time for me to move to a different restaurant. Applebees just irritates me these days. They have changed too much and in the process ruined this chain. For the most part our food does suck, but I think people are a little too hard on the food. It is not overpriced, it is worth what you are paying for.

Dallas has some amazing local restaurants. I am so ashamed that I decided go to Applebee's tonight instead.

 | irishgit (151) 10/12/2007 | I've only been in one of these. It's near the home field of my son's baseball team and we sometimes go after games. The food's decent, if nothing imaginative, my kid can come in wearing his cleats and jersey and I can get a beer.
It's no place I'd go on a regular basis but its passable if not great.

 | crapplehaters (0) 09/12/2007 | Simply the worst of the worst of casual dining chain establishments. I am friends with one of the local managers who has advised me to steer clear of the chemical-laden processed garbage they pawn off as food. Just the house sirloin steak alone has an ingredient list a mile long. It's supposed to just be a steak! Stay away and stay healthy!

 | sickofrudepeople (0) 09/04/2007 | Applebee's is just another restaurant, like any other food chain out there, there are bad servers and there are good servers. Sometimes the food is pretty good other times it sucks, it just depends which Applebee's you decide to go to. What really surprises me is that Applebee's is just as busy as any other restaurant no matter where you live and people complain about everything from the food to the service to the drinks, but they still go to Applebee's...I guess it isn't that bad after all. Maybe people should not be so rude when they go out to eat and they may find that the service that they get is far better than they expected. Respect for others, acknowledging your server as a person and not just some dung on the bottom of your shoe, and maybe a smile or two before you leave and you might be shocked at how you are treated.

 | jimmil (0) 03/30/2007 | If there was a zero star I would have chosen that. Applebees was at the bottom of my list for 10 years. My wife finally argued me into giving it another try as she for some unknown reason loves their salad. I tried it atgain ordering the French Onion soup (evreything else on the menu made me want to gag) thinking who could screw that up? Well, Applebees can. I will never go there again.

 | ivytheplant (0) 01/06/2007 | I don't think Applebee's can do anything right. Except suck. How can anyone screw up chicken alfredo so consistently? It's not hard. Chicken, pasta, alfredo sauce. I could make better alfredo out of those dry mix packets. I hate salt, but had to load down my plate with salt and pepper and I still couldn't taste anything. Well, except for the chicken, which was akin to charcoal briquettes rubbed in pig fat. And that was positively delicious compared to the travesty of a salad my husband ordered.

 | ZIPPY57 (2) 11/21/2006 | Absolute crap. Extremely low end quality. I've been to three different locations, and all three served the same tastless crap. If you were lucky it was tastless. Some in our party found the food offensive. Who the the hell goes to these places and keeps them in business?

 | foodyal (0) 11/12/2006 | One of the worst meals I have ever had, salty, could not finish. Quality control is not something they worry about. I tried to provide comments at their website, but they it so difficult to provide comments, I don't think they really care what people think. If they advertise enough and get enough new people coming in, they don't have to worry about people coming back.

 | rlt530 (0) 03/29/2006 | I've eaten at several Applebee's. I always used to like their food. Recently I've had two very poor meals. I ordered a sirloin the last time and I think I'd rate it a 3 on a scale of ten. I was not expecting anything wonderful-I know it is a chain restaruant but it tasted like they put smoke flavoring on it. Stay clear of the burgers if you go there. You're better off finding a local sports bar if you want a decent one.

 | GaMinister (0) 03/02/2006 | I have eaten at Appleby's in several states. The restaurants in the North are absolutely terrible. The food is awful, and the service matches. I have eaten at several different ones in the South, and as a whole, were MUCH better. Good service, very good food, though a bit pricey. As with any restaurant chain, it depends on who the owner is, and how highly customer satisfactions rates with them.

 | Mrs. P (0) 01/28/2006 | Wentto a new location for your restaurant in Bedford, N.H. the staff "jumped" you at the door and were so bored one hostess or waitress was coloring!!
The place was not overly busy but we were seated in a booth next to 2 children and their parents who wer not very obnoxious leaning over the seat and generally being pests. We were approached by one waiter and asked him to wait a minute till we looked at the menu while he was gone a young girl approached and tried to take our order Seems there were not enough customers to staff, we were uncomfortable with the children and the extra staff as well as the 3 combo meal deal which is what brought us into the restaurant to start. Disappointed that you did not get to choose your appitizer just dessert. We left without ordering and the staff at the door told us to have a nice evening and to come back this surprised us as we were only in the restaurant about 10 minutes and it was not busy you would think they would have noticed we did not stay and inquire as to the problem wouldn't you?

 | PureAuteur (1) 11/25/2005 | I was going to give this place 2 stars, but the tv commercials bring it down to 1. Anyone who is influenced by their commercials deserves the wretched food that awaits them here. I would rather eat at a chinese buffet at the risk of getting food poisoning than to eat here. I would rather chew on a dog toy shaped like a sirloin steak than to eat anything this place's menu labels as steak.

 | samjung23 (4) 06/02/2005 | Decent marks for food and decent marks for people. Applebee's doesn't seem to discriminate as much in hiring as other restaurants do. It does hire a lot of the preppy white kid crowd, which is annoying, but they do hire a more diverse waitstaff. The worst waitress I've ever had worked for Applebee's in Ann Arbor. She screwed up every order, ours and the table across from me, spilled my drink on me and looked like a raver. She was really cute and nice, so I didn't mind much. But if she was a jerk, I would've complained. The food kinda has a charcoaly, burnt quality here, like at TGIF. It's not for everybody, and I'm not a big fan of this place.

 | Gy-rater (0) 12/07/2004 | Of all these neighborhood bar-restaurant-grill-sports bar-confused chains that have opened since Cheers was on tv, I like this one the best. While the food is not world-class or fine dining (and is also not presented or touted as such), their salads are creative and delicious and a lot of their other choices are also excellent and satisfying. Next to Chili's this is one of the better operations out there. Unpretentious, decent service, decent value for dollar, and not trying to constantly be all things to all people. A good, solid choice and definitely worth dropping in on if you are in the neighborhood, but by no means a destination location or spectacular meal.

If you need to eat something for dinner, but don't want to cook, yet want something better then a microwaved burger at McDonalds, try Applebee's. But in can get crowded, so try not to get there after six or seven at night, or you could end up waiting for three hours to get a table and then two to get your food.

 | ClassicTVFan47 (38) 02/20/2004 | Perphaps the most tolerable of the slow food franchises, Applebee's has is good parts and bad parts. Their food is excellent, especially their chicken fingers. Their fountain drinks are also of top quality. Also, their service is top-notch, as the waiter will come by almost every minute (!) to check on you, refill your drink, etc. However, I do not like the fact that the have a bar, complete with mindless alcholic beverages. And, the internal design isn't that bad with windows present and a fair level of lighting. In the end, while the food was surprisingly delicious and the service top-notch, Applebee's is missing the little things that make fast food so great: boxes and sacks with logos, creative mascots and advertisements, reusable cups, drive-throughs and bright, colorful interiors.
