I think its the other way around actually, Drinking is a Favourite Thing To Do While Fishing.

One or two cold ones while boat fishing in calm waters is great fun. Lots of beer and powerful boats is a recipe for disaster. Especially if you are in unfamiliar or treacherous waters. No need to remind folks that most boating fatalities (pleasure craft) are enhanced or caused by too much alcohol. The best idea is not let the boat operator drink at all. Also wear that life vest especially when having a few.

Many a fish has sacrificed its life to a fisherperson who has an elevated blood alcohol level. Fishing being intoxicated (FBI) is not a pretty sight.
