excellent,terrified,good supernatural not only horror movie

This movie sucks, it's not what I thought, total waste of money.

This movie freaked me out. There were some parts that you are watching...then after its over you realized you were holding your breath and you have to let it all out. :p A lot of the scary and interesting parts were ruined by the previews but all in all it was really good.

Fine, well-crafted film. It helps if you're a Catholic when viewing this picture, although it's not completely necessary. Edgy, baptism-by-fire drama that streches the viewer's mind in numerous, sometimes uncomfortable directions. While the film certainly doesn't provide you with THEE answer (just many more questions than you had before), it does however offer keen insight into the phenomena of exorcisms - how and why they are carried out - and what they specifically encompass.

wickidly done. What scares people the most about this movie is that this girl is possessed by the devil and demons and stuff like that can really happin.

I could NEVER watch this movie. I saw the trailer for it, and I couldn't watch it. I don't get scared easily, but it's when I'm in bed with the lights out, that everything I watched during the day comes back to haunt me. I was terrified for three days after just watching the trailer. I don't like demonic movies, because unlike normal horror, this is actually real. This could happen.

I'd give this one a 3, leaning towards 4, but most of my favor comes from interest in the topic rather than it being a good movie. SYNOPSIS: Young lawyer Erin Brunner takes on a case of what appears to be an exorcism gone wrong; the trial follows the story of a young girl named Emily Rose, whose violent and shocking actions are explained in both a medical light and a spiritual light in court. Supposedly based on a true story. PROS: I found the subject matter to be fairly fascinating; The story, obviously leaning more towards the supernatural rather than the medical, presented an interesting interpretation for such bizarre incidents. CONS: I don't know if I'd call this movie a horror; it was creepy, certainly, though. While movies are really just elaborate vehicles to carry a story, movies have the capability to enhance a story by providing something else; stirring performances or believable visual effects to draw a viewer in, for example. But, the story didn't seem like it was enhanced by being on screen; in that respect, though the story wasn't necessarily bad, the movie kind of failed. The acting was not notable. The special effects were okay. VERDICT: This one's something you would want to watch really only if you're remotely interested in the subject matter, at least that's how I see it. It doesn't really have much else to offer. SKIP THIS MOVIE IF: A) Long, drawn-out courtroom scenes bore the hell out of you. B) You're looking for a horror movie. C) If things like possessions and other such phenomenon don't really interest you.
