Just had a horrible experience at the location in Nashville, TN. Waited 15 minutes for a server to arrive. When he finally did he offered lame excuses and even lamer jokes. Waited another 15 for him to bring beverages. When a manager was called over, he responded much the same way the server did. I am in the industry. I am a more than generous tipper. I want at least moderately good service and hopefully good food. Not excuses and poor attempts to be charming. Finally walked out. By the way, this was supposed to be my birthday lunch. Will not go back. Apparently, there is no website through which to make the corporate office aware of these problems. Why am I not surprised at that?

we have been there tons of times. had lunches, dinners also got whole cheesecakes to go several times. BUT today we left home just to get cheesecake and brought home which spent walking 20 min only one way. The dolche de leche cheesecake we got was FROZEN LIKE STONE. and we tried to call first but we were hanged up and somebody answered 2nd times and told me it was wrong number which was on the receipt (415)391-4444. (first try i was told to hold until manager answers).we had to walk back and waited manager 8 minutes to show up. When we showed the icy frozen cake manager said it has be like that and laughed so rudely. he was acting we were there asking piece of cake from his pocket. we have been too many times never seen that service never. from the time we got tha cake until returned the cake (talking explaining) one hour 45 min we spent, of course the cake was still frozen. The manager was keeping telling us go back home and wait 30 more minutes or EAT YOUR CAKE TOMORROW and. i explained i got many enough cake before never been like that he looked at me like i am liying and told me no it is sold never soft and asked me to have a slice of cake for return of my whole cake. i have to tell we didnt eat even one bite from the stupid cake and were treated so unbelievable. dont buy cake from there if u wanna surprise somebody with nice gift, u will be dissapointed.

I love that place! I had the strawberry cheesecake and it was very creamy, the crust, was very mouth watering cinnamony and the strawberries on top were a die for. Kind of expensive, (except on Cheesecake Day) but yet, one of my favorite places!

A most magical experience! Hey listen, if you're willing to wait 1.5 hours for a 2 minute roller coaster ride then it's obviously worth waiting for this orgy of flavor and fun. The menu is so big there are ADS in it. I've been here enough times to know that nearly everything is delicious, and with the exception of one mediocre diet salad I had in Florida, I'll order those things again. The leftovers last for at least 2 days so if expense is your concern imagine how much you'll be saving on lunch and breakfast!
Biscuithead 06/08/2009
The portions for meals are huge, but very good. It is usually a decent wait to get a seat, and the service here is great. The cheesecake is really good.

Cheesecake Factory-Pleasanton California Chief Ramsey –Please help them. I cannot believe that they have an executive chief, or a taster or someone who approves the food before it leaves the kitchen. Flavor, if you are not sure how to, salt pepper you can’t go to wrong. This was the worst dinner ever. I ordered and Strawberry Martini and my sister a Mojito. Both tasted like a glass of flavored syrup. A man, who I assume was the manager, but can’t be sure since he never introduced himself , let us know that basically the mixed drinks are extremely sweet, and are mixed in a syrup like mixture and marinade over night. He let us know that basically the mixed drinks are extremely sweet, and is mixed in syrup like mixture and marinade over night. Yuck a sugar marinades horrible mix. So we sent them back and settled on wine. My sister ordered a Kobe burger well done, and I ordered the Steak Diane med-rare. Her burger was med and my meat smothered in water gravy was well, with no flavor at all. Her burger that said came with grilled onions and mushrooms. When it arrived it had 2 slices of mushroom and a 1 small onion leaf, and the bun on the bottom was split in half. I sent the steak back and ordered a burger. The burger came, when I lifted it up the meat fell apart, it looked like crumbled ground beef. My niece had the pasta bistro that was horrible. We were completely embarrassed. We just kept and paid for the burger and pasta and drinks. Big disappointment. No one should have this experience; almost everything ordered was horribly prepared, and did not match its advertised description. Not to say I don’t think there was a Childs menu. I overheard another table order their child chicken strips. I suppose she didn’t need to eat, according to them, however they did remember to charge her 1.95 for a drink she never touched. Horrible Horrible

My fav chain restaurant and my 10th favorite restaurant overall. I love this place. I've never had a bad meal here. One of my favorite bites is their chicken madeira. They also make a kick-ass Vietnamese spring roll, but the one in Pasadena is the only ones who make them right. They've got a great full bar too. I love their chocolate martini.

The Cheesecake Factory is great, but I have some problems:1. Everytime I have tried to eat here (even during an odd time on a weekday), there is at least a one and a half hour wait, with very little seating for those waiting. It is cramped, loud and uncomfortable.2. They do not take reservations. It would make the employee's lives a lot easier, I think.3. They refuse to give out nutritional information.

Definately not a kid friendly restaurant. You would think with a name like Cheesecake Factory, that they would be somewhat kid friendly. We took our 13 year old son to Cheesecake Factory for what we thought would be a pleasant birthday meal for him. We were sadly mistaken. It started with the hostess talking us out of a high chair for our very active 2 year old, she suggested a booster chair instead. What a mistake!! 2 year olds must be strapped in at the table. In looking at the overpriced menu, we found that there were absolutely no children's meals on the menu. They expect a family to purchase a full entree for a 2 year old? After a very long wait, our food finally arrived. My burger, which was supposed to be medium well was very red - not a little pink, but red. The waiter returned it to the kitchen, another long wait, for it to be returned cooked this time, but still a terrible burger. My husband had to take our 2 year old daughter outside while I finished eating and ordered 1 slice of cheesecake for the birthday boy. I will never go there again!!

The food is nothing special at all. It's way overpriced. Everything I've tried has been very bland, not cooked well, and just kind of "blah". The portions are way too big and you definitely pay for it. Their cheesecake isn't even very good.

Online delivery sucks!I ordered way in advance for the holidays and they failed to deliver TWICE!!!They said they had a problem w/my credit card BECAUSE THE LADY WHO TOOK THE ORDER FORGOT TO ASK IMPORTANT QUESTIONS ABOUT THE BILLING!!!They claimed they tried to call me but i swear they didnt!!!!!The second time they said they were just too busy to call!!!!!NEVER will I use this service again!!!It was supposed to be a surprise gift!!!!

Very poor service at the front desk. Long, long waiting lists. Unprofessional performance and you will be seat when the host want and not when your turn comes.Location: Perimeter Mall in Atlanta.

It bothers me to see some bad reviews about my favorite restaurant. I live in NJ, and yes there are better restaurants, but at a much higher cost. I have been to all popular chain restaurants in this area (Apple Bees, Olive Garden, Macaroni & Grill, etc) and this is yet my favorite. First of all, the variety of drinks is impressive. I found once a Pisco Sour from Peru which tasted delicious. The house merlot is very good. The theres two kinds of fresh bread. The menu is one of a kind. If you like pasta and are tired of the traditional alfredo and scampi linguini, well here you can try the Louisina chicken pasta. It is simply delicious. Jambalaya is the most popular pasta dish. If you like shrimp, then try the Bistro Shrimp pasta. Another favorite is the Bam-bam chicken and shrimp. This one has a Thai curry flavor without being too ethnic. I wish they bring back the Shrimp New Orleans, Creole style dish. Most of the dishes have unique taste. Even the burgers are really good here. And for dessert, well the name says it all. There so many types of cheesecakes. Dont read the menu, instead stop by the dessert stand and look at the variety of desserts. I wish I can afford to go there every week and try other dishes. One thing I did notice was that when they opened another restaurant in Wayne, the food did not taste as good as the one in Hackensack. Perhaps thats whats happening in other states. Weekends are always crowed, so be prepared to wait a least 45 minutes, but it is definitely worth the wait.

The building is quite spectacular, but the food is mediocre at best. This kind of food is of average quality, and the price is extremely high for it. As I say, you might go to check the place out, but I recommend not eating there.

Not great, long waite , tomatoe sauce tasted like menthol... wierd and very bland almost undercooked. Ordered chic marsala tasted real bland , and a overpowering wild mushroom taste pasta not cooked to order, it was pre-portioned. I tasted the meatloaf, which was crammed with way too many veggies( over kill)but tasted like stuffed peppers. the chicken soup was okay. The turkey breast meal was dry as **** and the stuffing that came with it almose sent me to the bathroom. Im sorry but it is a chain restaraunt and it tastes like it also.

We decided to have our mutual birthday lunches at the Moreland Road, Willow Grove Mall location. Waited 1 hour and no one came out to talk to us about our food arrival. I order the Bang Bang Chic/Shrimp.....and it was awlful. Plate hot, food luke warm on an 85 degree day outside. Illness in the making. Then I ordered the Thai Lettuce Leaves and the bean sprouts were slimy, cilantro looked like it had been stepped on and plated and the chicken was burnt. I did not even touch it. This is the second of four trips there where the food needed inspection and careful review from a government agency. Beware of good looking restaurants that serve deadly food!

I went there about a year ago here in Short Pump, Virginia. It was a weekday lunch rush, the wait was about 30 minutes, but that was good because they have like a novel for the menu, its huge.We really only waited about 15 minutes. When we sat down we were almost immediately noticed by a waiter who was friendly and got refills even if the glass was only half-empty.The food I expected was just a typical restaurant food, but I was wrong, they have very unique, one-of-a-kind food. Not just the average restaurant food. We had 3 people in our party, and we split one of the slices of cheesecake between us.It may be a little on the expensive side, but the food and service you recieve makes it well worth any wait and price.

We first tried CKF in Boulder, Co. We were not so hungry, so we ordered a salad and one entree (we were 2 adults and 2 kids-with no appetite. They just wanted lemonade). Our waiter- Chris, was surprised that we were ordering only this much. He almost made us feel ashamed of ourselves. On seeing that we added one kids item. The food was okay. We had to bring the leftovers back to hotel with no refrigerator available. On top of that he made sure that we order cheesecake too. Service was okay, food was good. We are not going back to CKF, ever ! No wonder, nobody comes out without leftovers from restaurant. One star only because there is no lower option.

Usually crowed mall or near-mall kind of place. Food isn't bad. . .you will wait for a seat on most occasions. But this is my go-to when "Mother-In-Law-comes-to-town-and-CS-just-wants-to-shove-food-down-her-throat" kind of a place. . .
soundguy 05/22/2008
2 hr wait for a party of 10 in a wed night. Rude horrible service. I am not very picky about where I eat. Nor do I ask for White Glove service. I was being taken out to eat (treated to a meal). The service was so bad I left my party behind after I explained that... "Even though I was being treated to whatever I wanted on the menu. I didn't want the restaurant to receive profit for such horrible service." So that was the first and last time I will ever visit cheesecake factory. I hope location location location is your mantra because there are no other redeaming qualities to your restuarant. P.S. Everyone in my party related their stories of the missing entrees and continued bad service. THEY DESERVE A ZERO Send your complaint emails to investor relations on their website if you want to be heard!
JoeZ 04/07/2008
$15 for pasta with a few shreds of whatever they said is in it (mushrooms tomatoes garlic, about three pieces of chicken, I could even count the number of peas). not good, flavorless, waste of calories. typical problem with america. unhealthy huge portions of nutritionless nada.
Strijdom 03/12/2008
Not giving Cheesecake Factory a 5/5 is a travesty. Of all the restuarants, this is the best value. For the ambience and quantity of food, most restuarants would charge two to three times as much. The food is rich, and portions are enormous. Bread and olive oil are free, and are baked on-site, and gives a very good first impression. You certainly wont be getting anything that's not done to perfection.
But, come on a Saturday, and it will take a long time both to be seated and for the orders to come. It takes a long time for them to prepare their meals, but it's quality over anything and everything else. Nothing is prepared in a slapdash way like at Denny's, for example. They really take their time.
If your children dont have PSPs, or you're not gonna be shopping around near the restuarant, dont go...

we arrived at the Boulder location at 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon with a party of 7, 2 adults and 5 kids(15, 14, 8, 3, 2). The restaurant was LESS than half full. After a wait of 5 minutes to get a table ready, we were seated at a nicely sized corner booth near several other customers. After a wait of TWENTY minutes and also failing to get any wait staff's attention we finally left the restaurant. We were unable to get ANYONE to even look in our direction. We were trying to have a nice lunch out in a relaxing atmosphere. When I left I asked to speak to the manager. After a couple of minutes he came up (reeking of smoke). When I let him know what happened all he could say was have a seat and I'll make sure you get served right away. Our younger kids were not up for more sitting and waiting, and everyone was else was fed up with the experience. We ended up spending our money at Olive Garden where within 20 minutes we had our orders taken, drinks (and at least one refill) served and were almost DONE with our soups. What a huge disparity in service. If I didn't have a gift card to use, I would promise to never set foot in another cheesecake factory again. If I can manage to sell the gift card to some unsuspecting person, then I never will. Not only have you turned me off, but have done the same for 2 teenagers who will be soon making choices about where to spend their money and influence about where their group of friends go. I only rated it 1 start because you can't rate it a ZERO.
Tootsntoes 12/30/2007
Do not use their online shopping! They do not deliver as promised and do not notify you that the delivery did not happen.

like anything that tastes good, it will kill you - thousands of calories in one meal never tasted so good.

Those who think that the Cheesecake Factory is a high fattening restaurant...maybe you need to look at yourself and look at the food you are putting in your mouth. Try the South Beach Diet..you can eat ANYWHERE while on this diet. You can have salads with any dressings (but cut out anything with flour, like the chip strips) load it with cheese and bacon. The only reason you think it is high calorie..is because your tastebuds crave high fattening foods, and you are probably not as "fit" as those eating better and who can cut out carbs and sugars

What A Night!!! we were supposed to have dinner @The Cheesecake Factory, Santa Anita table for 8, the hostess ask us to wait 60-85 minutes we didn't mind, because if u book table for less than 6 ppls, it won't take that long while we waiting, a lot of ppls who came in after us had their table, 'cause it's table for 2-6 ppls we waited for over 85 minutes, we still didn't got a table we asked the hostess just to be sure for how long more the hostess said "I know that I told u to wait 60-85 minutes, but if the customer still sitting down n talking, I can't tell them to leave" what the ****, we didn't tell u to ask them to leave, we just ask when our table will be ready (we didn't said this to her, don't wanna be mean to her) what a ****ing stupid, no manner hostess unbelievable...

Went to the newly opened C/F Restaurant in WILLOW GROVE, Pa. Very disappointing! Long wait, horrible service and not-so-special food that is definitely over-priced. This was my first visit and definitely my last!
ZIPPY57 09/14/2007
THE FOOD WAS A LITTLE ABOVE AVERAGE, THE PORTIONS WERE LARGER THAN AVERAGE. THE WAITRESS WAS VERY GOOD AND EFFECIENT. THE PRICES WERE WAY ABOVE AVERAGE. I DID NOT TRY THE CHEESECAKE BECAUSE IT WAS $7 A SLICE. I'M SURE IT WAS NO BETTER THAN AVERAGE FROZEN CHEESECAKE AND NO WAY BETTER THAN ANYTHING I CAN GET HERE IN NEW YORK CITY. I CAN GET SOME OF THE COUNTY'S BEST CHEESECAKE FOR LESS THAN $7 A SLICE. I WON'T BE COMING BACK UNLESS I HAVE SOME $ TO BURN. THERE ARE BETTER VALUES ELSEWHERE.

King of Prussia, PA - July 2007: Although my and my 7 yr old daughter had a very nice meal, we felt that we were rushed out of the restaurant. We ordered cheesecake to go, but my daughter wanted to see the choices, so I escorted her to the front of the restauarant (couldn't let a 7 yr old go alone in a crowded place) and when we came back to our table, all of our food/drinks were gone, the new settings were there and they were about to seat someone. I told the waitress where we were going AND we took all of 3 minutes. I hadn't even seen the bill yet and we certainly weren't done eating/drinking our beverages. I casually mentioned to the waitress that my daughter really wanted to finish her Shirley Temple and the cherrys, the waitress left, came back, plopped down a drink in a plastic cup with a lid NO CHERRIES, as if she wanted us to take it to go. I was very disappointed and we were offered no apology. When our cheesecake came, my daughter wanted to taste it before we left and we were asked to use the plastic fork in our bag, as the silverware on the table was for the next customers. By the way, I let my daughter use the silverware on the table. Seems like once you eat, you are not important anymore. I literally could have left the restaurant when we went to look at the cakes and never paid the bill - but we didn't. You will NEVER see us in another Cheesecake factory and my experience WILL be shared with my friends and relatives. Very disappointed.

One of the most fantastic experiences my son and I had. Very nice ambience, especially the restaurant in The Woodlands, Texas, excellent food, coffee, and of course cheesecake. The staff was very accomodating and I heard this from people all over the restaurant from a variety of cultures and backgrounds! Superb!!!!!

The most horrible restaurant that I ever went to in Birmingham, AL. I have been to all most all the restaurants in Bhm... Very biased restaurant, racist. The service depends on your skin color. I recommend you never go to the restaurant ........

Cheesecake fac. is one of my favorites. Mostly everyone can find something to enjoy on their huge menu. All of the food I have had has been a positive expierence. Their portions are big and the fries are very good. The best part about cheesecake would be their cheesecake (by hearing the name). Many of the ones I have been to are crowded and might give you a wait. After everything, Cheesecake fac. is a good choice for a casual decent meal.

Always delicious, and I always am met with great service. I would recommend this place to anyone, it's my favorite!
Robert57 05/29/2007
They used to post nutritional information on their website. Samples: carrot cake, one slice, 80 grams fat; fettucini alfredo, over a hundred grams fat. Holy Heart Attack, Batman. This isn't cooking, this is pandering to the Lowest Common Denominator. They're more shameless than MacDonald's.I can't understand why people stand in line two hours for obscenely unhealthy food.
lucy2 05/28/2007
I enjoy the Cheesecake Factory for lunch. There is something for everyone on the menu and one day I am going to save room for that piece of strawberry cheesecake! The lines are usually long and you give your name to the hostess and she calls you when a table is available. This is THE procedure even if you are the first one there (this is the only thing I find annoying--are we back in 1st grade again?) It is a large, bright place with several separate dining areas and you can always count on good food. I should mention, if you are on a tight budget, this is not the place for you as the high prices have a way of sneaking upon you.
athenian 05/24/2007
I have eaten at the location at Keystone at The Crossing in Indianapolis quite a few times. Wonderful Chicken Salad. I love this place for lunch. Very good salad to compliment the sandwiches. Excellent selection of cheesecakes, if you couldn't figure it out by the name.

I have been to the Cheescake Factory at Old Town Pasadena several times, as well as the one at the Grove in Los Angeles' Farmers Market and I have never been disappointed. The service was great, the wait was about twenty minutes, which is really not too bad. The food is more than decent, the portions are fair sized and the beer is cold, always a plus for me, as I like my beer frosty cold. I can't remember every meal I ever had there, but their Philly Cheesesteak sandwich is good, maybe not quite Pat's or Geno's in Philly, but not bad. Two weeks ago I had the Club sandwich. This is such a simple sandwich and you would think it would be hard to screw up, yet so many diners and restaurants do exactly that. The Cheesesteak factory gets it right. Did I mention that the beer is cold?
alazz911 03/28/2007
crowds, and dimly lit, poor wait staff, over priced. Great cheesecake. portions are small. nothing spectacular menu choice wise. 4 people cost us 180.00
somalicat 03/24/2007
Seriously overrated. Half the stuff is something that can be whipped up by any somewhat competent chef: bland and boring. Even worse is the poor service with the interminable wait. Go to a Denny's.
TravelingFoodi e 03/12/2007
My food was good. I had the Kobe burger and avocado eggrolls. I tried to wo cheesecakes two different times before finally settling on one that I liked. I wish they would not put so much candy and other stuff in some of them. The man behind the cheesecake counter was much better than our previous waiter.
ColtSeries70 02/25/2007
This place rocks. They have the best salads, appetizers, burgers, entrees, drinks. Can't get enough of this place. Good service too. Only downside is you can't make a reservation. Oh yeah- awesome cheesecake too.
Chapter7 02/04/2007
After a 90 min. wait (The manager told us he has worked in CKF all over the US, and Boise people will learn to wait) we set down for dinner (Wifes B-Day) we had fish and shrimp. You could have blown cotton balls it was so dry. Yes the meal was huge, but no use taking it home (love my dog to much) but as always you should give it a try! PS - They do nothing for B-Days, but put a candle on what you order. What atmosphere? Half are party was setting on a bench seat! Two hundred dollar bill and the same seating arrangements as Panda Express (Panda's better). My pocket book, butt and stomach heart after this experience

I'm sure the cheesecake isn't as good as Ridge's, but it's good and there are many varieties available every day. Like 25 or more! My wife loves this restaurant. The food is pretty good and portions very large. The menu is very long and covers many different types of cuisine pretty well. The ambience is fairly opulent, but not as opulent as the same group's other chain - the Grand Luxe (I think that's what it's called/how it's spelled). I've eaten at three or four of these and find them reasonably similar. Upscale for sure. A little on the Disney side - reminds me of some of the modern, so-called deluxe hotels at Disney world like the Dolphin. They try to make up in scale what they lack in genuine luxury characteristics.

I recently ate at the Cheesecake Factory in Jacksonville FL. I had to wait almost an hour for a table but it was worth the wait. We had an excellent server, Carla. She was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave great recommendations to such a picky eater! The variety is amazing, almost as much as the Cheesecake. We also loved that Warm Apple Crisp (recommended by our server). Yum, will be back!

Again, folks this is a place people either really LOVE or HATE apparently. I have dined in the KC restaurant on the Plaza, and yes, the wait is abominable (hey, its the Plaza on a Saturday night you're gonna wait). But who wants to wait for crummy food??? What we do is have a good breakfast and then shop the plaza (or wherever) go in about 4:30 with no lunch on board, and have no wait that way. Works for me! Yes, the entrees are a little pricey, but again, the portion sizes are quite generous, so ...??? The best cheesecake I've had was a deli in Miami called Wolfies... to die for. The cheesecake is what it is, a chain restaurant with good bar food and decadent desserts, some of which are better than others. If you don't want calorie laden desserts, WHY GO THERE???
