This problem will never be eradicated until hypocrisy is eliminated. First of all, "welfare reform" has proven to be anything but. Ever heard of the "earned income tax credit"? A rose by any other name.... Secondly, if our government is going to be in the "welfare" business, I say let it be for US citizens- not for illegal invaders on our soil and not for billions in foreign aid.

The inner city single mom getting food stamps or WIC...least of our problems here.

The only thing I see wrong with the welfare system is that there have been so many people in the past (and some still are) abusing it, and then when somebody legitimate needs help, it's made really hard on them.

Change that to CORPORATE welfare and it's 5 stars at the least.In reality,very little money goes to the welfare system,and most people recieving assistance are single mothers and such.Yes-I believe that those who cheat to get it should go to jail,and I do not at all approve of illegal aliens milking it.If you want less single,unmarried moms feeding their 7 or 8 poor illigitimate kids off your tax dollar,stop trying to ban abortion!

Welfare is corrupt, now anways, people use it as a income and i once met a family that was on Welfare and Medicaid that came into the E.R. after eating steaks :-(. While they are eating steaks they people who support them are most likely eating Hamburger Helper. FDR had Welfare right, he made them go and work on goverment projects instead of sit around and grow fat, there is a higher percentage of obesity in Welfare recivers than non, Welfare needs to be saved.

I'd say no, not now, but if it grows, it can become very dangerous. It was the welfare system and foriegn wars that doomed Rome.
